NOOOOO - Nick Dal Santo in doubt for Grand Final

Post: # 992787Post Dal_Santos_Gal »

No No No, please no, it can not be.
Could it just be them be careful with him, giving him a couple of extra days after the game to much sure he does not aggravate it .

It's just the media making a storm in a tea cup yeah? who was at training this morning? how did he look?

ST KILDA star Nick Dal Santo failed to complete a light training session at Moorabbin as the Saints begin preparations for Saturday's Grand Final.

Dal Santo did some standing handball drills for half an hour before leaving the track as the Saints completed a 45-minute session.
Dal Santo remains in some doubt for the MCG clash against Collingwood

In Ross Get lost!

I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

He'll be fine.

I would ignore lightweight reports like that.

Besides today was not a fair dinkum training session.

It was an event for the fans.

Dal will not do anything this week which could aggravate or cause his back niggle to flare. He will be rested and just get lots of massage etc.

Gram is the only one that I would be at all concerned about.

He was fine. Media trying to make a story.

Moved ok, was in good spirits and seemed happy.

He will play.

Will be fine.

Will have his back worked on all week. Played out the game last week.

No worries.

Media will talk this up though.

I agree with Rising.

Gram did not look 100%. He trained with the main group but appeared proppy and didn't stretch out when running.

Having another look at the replay, I would say NDS and possibly Gram won't make it, they look a long way from being a week off full fitness- RL knows by now that he won't win a flag with proppy players. I think that Baker and maybe Steven or Armo may be in for the big one

Dal is our classy version of Pendlebury, he needs to play and play well for us to win.

Both will play. Gram always looks proppy and would not have been with the main group if there was any problem that was going to stop him from playing. And as I said in another thread, Nick really wanted to do things, but Mr Misson is clearly taking a very cautious path. And why not at this stage? My main concern is Clint. We are going to need him big time on Swan.

A few day's rest followed by a game-day injection can do wonders.

GO SAINTS !

PS
I didn't notice Jones spend too much time on the bench - or any concerns during the match ? .. so I don't get his injury ?

I can see the last quarter with NDS and Gram hobbling at less than full pace- the game is just too important to the club to put two suss players on the field

Agree.

Story was there this morning before the "training" run.

Later on it was updated to say NDS left training early, just to give some "credibility" to Bruce Matthew's original crap piece.

Yep - new story up now:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/s ... 5926746970

Gram also says he's 90%. It wouldn't be any different for a few Collingwood players also.

I'm sweating on MRP. And Baker - who goes for him? Dempster's been playing well IMO. The only player I would query is Mini, has had a dreadfully quiet year.

I would not go by that....we had 5 on the bench too.

I would imagine when put back on they would have been instructed to not go 100% flat out.

Of the two I only have doubts on Gram.

Gram I would imagine is very sore and will be so till about Thurdsay.

Gram participated fully in training today, so he is no worries, Dal was moving fine and did very light work.
Scans yesterday showed nothing, he would be sore that's all and will play.
Incidently, you wouldn't be able to lay a tackle like he did on Lake with a crook hamstring/back.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

They all moved exactly as I would expect players to move who played a hard game less than 48 hours ago. They were sore and todays training session was nothing more than a show for the fans. The players got to suck it all up, and as a lot were turning up at the same time as us, I would say they have a long day of meetings etc ahead of them.

Donot be alarmed
