I hadn't read that.
A very emotional read.

But very reassuring.
The fact that they hurt so much (just like us) shows that given a second chance they will be even more focused on atonement.

Great get Gussy,

sums up in parts how we are all feeling.

I've loved this club since I was 5. My family are all Collinwood supporters but Dad took me to a game at the MCG in 65 against Richmond.

Cowboy was larger than life, he was a monster of a man. I had a Saints jumper with 18 on the back from that day on.

My life was then about going every second week or so with my mate Fitsy. We;d be on the outer cheering our or 5 goals for the game against those other bastards who scored 18 or so lucky goals. But my devotion never died.

I flew from Jakarta to the MCG in 97.

I took my whole family last year,

and I'm taking them again this year to se the Mighty Saints play in another Grand Final.

I'm ready to see them win.

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Very emotional read. Gave me that feeling in the pit of my stomache again.

I remember reading it the morning after the fateful day and crying as I read. Crying for my own disappointment, but also for "my boys" and feeling so much for them. It was a reminder of just how deeply they take it. It gets lost in our own disappointment and that article was a reminder that these boys are real people, with real feelings and real families. They have mothers and fathers there supporting them in good times and bad. I hope we all have tears for a different reason this week.

Robbo was still mentioing his fear for the sanity/ health of Milney early this year.
the utter devastation affected him.

I noted Ross's comments on ' My boys are hurting' at the time and just felt it showed he and they were connected -despite what then and even now is a percieved Iceman / hard man affect.

interestingly apparently visin of the end of that game was used pre the Geelong game a couple of weeks ago
and Chips is one player that has' rewound' parts of the game occassionally over the year- many say they can't and haven't watched it.

I noted this at the time too Saintbrat. It showed a side of Ross he doesn't let out very often. That fatherly sort of thing. His voice broke when he said that too. It's a tough gig.

Also heard Robbo mentioning his fears for Milney a couple of times. He has fought on well after a very trying year.
Hopefully he'll have a great day Saturday

Feck's sake that brought back bad memories...

I don't think the boys will let that happen again. They can't.

That was a good read, I remember reading it at the time with a very different perspective.

I agree with the list assessment... and dare I suggest - I think Schneider has stepped into the forward flank role, and Peake in the middle.

Cant bring myself to read it. I broke down in tears on Saturday night as it was when they showed the boys talking with Jack Barker and when they showed the heartbreak and devastation on our boys faces after last year.

Tears of joy this year Sainters, tears of joy
