It was the 7 goals to the Saints in the 3rd quarter that cost them dearly. FFS!

And most of those behinds were them peppering the goals in the last 10 minutes with zero pressure in the midfield and our best players on the bench. And they still couldn't get the goals until the Hall one in the last minute and the Hann one after the siren

For the last 10-15 we were playing 17 blokes with as many as ten blokes in the back third. It was actually quite amusing in a way.

And yet even Rohan Connolly writes about the brave Dogs 'never giving up'.

FFS. If they weren't getting it forward of centre then, they never would!!!

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Score at half time in last year's Prelim:

Saints 3.6.24 Dogs 4.7.31

This year:

Saints 3.6.24 Dogs 4.6.30

Best thing is we won both!

Brave Dogs never giving up? I must have been at a different game last nite. Maybe thats the problem why they underperform year after year. Their supporters even go along with it

If you watched their structures closely last night they fell away terribly, the lack of defensive forward early was laughable (Chips had his easiest game ever?) Pressure on the man was poor and defensively they were shown up. Maybe because they have a great player in Lake and Morris serviceable that the media considers them a strong defensive team.

Also considering they were a goal up at 1/2 time and just didnt get a touch in the first 10 mins of the 3rd showed how flimsy they are.

The Filth shut up shop in the last and so did we...its human nature to preserve. Any late goals are just that, late. Brave Dogs...not so!

Theres always a proviso with the Dogs and thats the excuse. Pity is the excuses should all be flushed out now - another Prelim defeat, another loss to a top 4 team. Media infatuation should be over and the facts reported.

Let's hope it's the brave, never say die pies that cost themselves the game next week. 8-)
