Corporate Box Conundrum

Post: # 987413Post Kris1 »

Help required...

I have two tickets for M50 row A for Sat night and was really looking forward to sitting on the fence among other sainters and getting right into it.

However, I have now been offered two corporate box tickets. I have never been to a corporate box before and am now completely torn as to what to do.

Can anyone with some corporate box experience at the G let me know if it is worth it or should I stick to my seats out in the open?

No atmosphere inside a box.

If you want to get into the game, keep the seats you have.

Agree re atmsophere.

Corporate Boxes are sensational - if your team is NOT playing!

Depends on who you go with. Corporate box can be a great atmosphere if the people with you are footy people and support a team. Couple i have been to have been good days.
Depends on the mix

Yep x a million.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Corporate boxes are nice if you want a good 3 course meal & a drink. If you're at all passionate about the team/s playing you'll be hanging out of the window all night.

I know what I'd be doing if I had front row tickets. Pie & sauce & a coke.

OK, front row, pie, sauce, coke and screaming ourselves hoarse - here we come!

Box would have been mixed and no guarantee of any saints fans other than us. Also don't think I would have been very good company either if last years prelim was anything to go by.

Just praying it doesn't rain or the missus will kill me...

GO SAINTS!

Wet from the rain, or wet from the dribblers in the box.

Either way she probably would have cracked it with you

You have to be joking. Take the box any day of the week. Free grog and food. I have been in plenty and the atmosphere is usually great. If you dont want them I will take them off you.

Food is a huge expense, so is parking...if both are provided, I know where I'd be sitting. :)

Exactly.

Eat before you get there.

Park somewhere cheaper (or free).

And get out amongst the REAL fans.

My idea of what a night at the footy is.

Food...Meh...Would mean more on a Friday night after work maybe
Drink...I don't
Car...Train (honestly can not imagine why anyone would drive to the footy anyway)
Sitting with the real fans...Priceless

Actually, I have never sat in the front row before at any sporting event and I am more excited about getting close up to the play than as I am about sitting in a box!

You'll love it.

I was 3rd row for the GF last year, and there is simply nothing like being up close in matches like these.

Enjoy it!

Hope you're grinning at the end of the game, no matter where you sit.

Would be the box for me, anyday. Have been in the G corporate quite a few times, with and without Saints fans. Great night (or day)

Corporate boxes are awesome.

They're also really expensive, so the opportunity doesn't come up that often.

I'd definitely go the box!

Was at the GF last year on the fence....and I enjoyed it till about half way through the last quarter. My 12 year old love it.

Being close so you can hear the players is great. Viewing wise it is harder to take in some elevation as you are at ground level.

For the footy purist is agreat experience.

Have sat in many Corporate Boxes over the years. The Old Ponsford Boxes used to be my favouristes with ther sliding windows you could have open so you got all the crowd noise.

CH9's was the plushest and leased crowded with his sofa chairs. Quality of the day depends on who you are in the box with.
If you area non-drinker some of the advantage will be lost.

Still beinga ina box can make you feel special fora day..especially as you have not down it bere.

Not knowing you...but having read you replies I suspect that being on the fence is the experience that you will enjoy most.

Also in the outer you can yell and scream to your hearts content...ina box you tend to curtail your passion..

However you have a Win Win with two good options. so nice problem to have.

Cheers

i've sat in corporate boxes for many matches and i have a rule I live by:

home and away matches - always accept

finals - never

the reason for my rule is that i had an experience in a corporate box for a final about 5 years ago where there was a 'muppet' who did not support the saints or the other team but decided because the box had a couple of saints supporters he would go for the other team, and was loud and abusive so much so that the host of the box apologised to me after wards.

so given the importance of finals, i DO NOT go to boxes so i can sit in the outer and not worry about controlling myself if a 'muppet' around me says something that warrants a response!

you've made the right decision, stay in the outer!
