Fevola
If Fev gets the flick for his latest flashing indiscretion would we have another look at him ...
I must admit I thought he would have complimented our team last time he was on the market ...

Some players area bridge to far.... ie Lovett.
I am not so fussed if they have been a bad-boy in the past or not.
BUT there has to be a genuine willingness to change their behaviour.
ie Gardiner committed to change and has been excellent.
Whereas Lovett promised the world, but had no commitment to change (apart from the alleged rape he was also reportedly off drinking, missing training <was on TV at a festival when he told coaches he had a cold and could not train> ).
I think Fev has repeatedly demonstrated that he is not committed to changing.

If Fev gets sacked, I can't see any team picking him up for a third time.
Ye I know we have a great record of getting players into line (Gardiner), but if you don't come prepared to change, then no one can save you.
And if Brown couldn't keep him on the straight and narrow, Rooey can't either.
Fantastic footballer, would be a massive plus on the field, but far too risky.
We have enough off field issues as it is.

He isn't past it. A hugely talented player always playing in crap teams.markp wrote:I think he's all bad.BelfastSaint wrote:So you dont think Fevola has any good football left in him ....markp wrote:Let's get Aker too.
Surely one of the biggest human cancers ever to play the game... and now past it to boot.
And by the way, Aker's off field indiscretions are angelic compared to Fev's.
Wouldn't want him, but the Dogs are as weak as piss if they couldn't handle him.

The are degrees of indiscretions, and your comment is plain stupid.marksnsparks wrote:Yeah, let's re-employ Lovett too and then we have all the vices covered.
FFS.
Lovett (supposedly) raped a sleeping girl. Fevola gets excessively drunk at Brownlow night and pisses on buildings.
While he is pretty dam badly behaved, Lovett is one the fast route to a long term jail sentence.

I'm not comparing rape to a gambling/alcohol problem, but maybe vice was a poor choice of word. I am saying the negative influence on our football club would be pretty much equal.FQF wrote:The are degrees of indiscretions, and your comment is plain stupid.marksnsparks wrote:Yeah, let's re-employ Lovett too and then we have all the vices covered.

Would not be so quick to say his career is over. I don't think that his indiscretions have been earth shattering, just inappropriate.
He is a MAGNIFICENT kick of the the football and it would be a shame to see him end his career in this manner. If he performed consistently and without his off field indiscretions, he would be classed as a champion of the game. He just cannot seem to get his life together. Jonathan Brown was never going to be able to 'control' him when the whole club is imploding and has been since about Rnd 2-3 of this year.
Not saying I want him at the Saints, but not saying that I don't either. I don't believe that we need another forward, we have enough both in the team and waiting in the wings. Plenty of teams that do though. Geelong, Freo or Collingwood perhaps..??

And Fev might not be far behind him if he keeps letting Little Brendan Junior out for air!FQF wrote:The are degrees of indiscretions, and your comment is plain stupid.marksnsparks wrote:Yeah, let's re-employ Lovett too and then we have all the vices covered.

I would not be too firm on separately the two on those grounds as:FQF wrote:The are degrees of indiscretions, and your comment is plain stupid.marksnsparks wrote:Yeah, let's re-employ Lovett too and then we have all the vices covered.

1/ By the sounds of it though Fev's incident this time also involved a female.
2/ Back on Brownlow night Fev could easily have been up on charges over an alleged incident with a female reporter which involved inappropriate sexual behaviour if not assault.

Seems to be a bit hazy though as to what exactly has happened.markinUSA wrote:Yes, it's not public urination - he's been accused of indecent exposure.
First it was stated he 'exposed' himself to a female Lions supporter inside a Hotel. Then I heard it was inside his car. So which one is is..?? If she was in his car, he might of thought he was about to get lucky......

So with all the incidents, media exposure, player educational programs etc , and not to mention Fev's track-record.........you are happy to go with this tired old excuse???????saint75 wrote:

Is just isn't capable of changing, he proves it time and time again.
If they sack him, will it free up their salary cap?
Bad decision for Lions to get him, not just for his downfall, but the domino effect on the club.
Salary cap issues
Bradshaw and Rischetelli leaving
Giving up a potential young forward in Henderson
Off field indiscretions
Do we want him at St Kilda, no...no...and no!
