which smith? there's only one smith!
How many of Armitage/Blake/Dawson/Dempster/Eddy/Geary/Gwilt/McQwalter/Peake (although he's been good)Ray would get a game with Geelong?
Our top end are great players but the bottom end
If we don't get some talent in we will slip down the ladder at the blink of an eye

In: Schneider, Milne, Baker
Out: McQualter, Miles, Geary
This is what should happen IMO
Geary then Miles are the contingencies for Fisher and Armitage
But I reckon that what will happen is:

If the weather forecast stays for rain that may keep Armo in.

Could be Geary rather than Dempster. Dempster has more experience and I think he had the better game against Adelaide. Kicked a nice goal and set up Geary's. Plus I'd have more faith in him if he drew the tough defensive assignment.dcstkfc wrote:In: Schneider, Milne, Baker

Geary I am confident will grow into a very handy player for us.
However right here and now he makes mistakes that he should not.
In particular turnovers that should not happen.....and goals that are not iced.
Is not alone there of course.
But turnovers could well decide who wins in this final series...and turnovers have seen us spanked in a few games.

I tend to agree with FQF & hence I have a post named "Conspiracy Theory". This is regarding the so called Fishers Hammy.FQF wrote:You could also choose to subscribe to the theory that the whole injury is a ploy to confuse Bomber.plugger66 wrote: I hope you are right but for some reason i take no notice of what our club says about injuries.

It all comes back to the whole better player vs better team thing. On our day, we have the latter. imo
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

The only changes in you would think would be Schneider, Milne & Baker. Some have suggested Eddy & Steven as well but we will not make that many changes especially when those two plus Baker have very little game time during the past few weeks under their belts. My concern re Baker is that if he fails due to lack of match practice what is plan 'B'. Do we have a back up in the 22 capable of taking over.
My other concerns are we need Kosi & Roo's goal kicking accuracy to stand up. Without scoreboard pressure we will have a hard time beating the Cats. It is no good getting the ball forward if we do not put the score on the board. Last years GF tells us that & again was highlighted on the weekend.

Do people really think Mini likely to be omitted? Without being inside the selection meeting, I'm guessing that 7 tackles and 94% disposal (albeit only 2 kicks) and Mini will be given the pass - even if he fell far short of filling in for Schneider. I suppose if the coaches think that Steven's haul in rd 13 was due to Geelong lacking a matchup, they might toy with the idea, but that doesn't strike me as a likely Lyon selection...
Likely outs will come from Dempster/Miles/Armitage as the ins
1) Line up pretty closely
2) All 3 spent time in the forward line while it was missing 2 walk-up starts

Miles had 4 kicks the other dat and turned over twice. IMO Miles is no hope of playing. He may become a ood player but he isnt finals material yet.Saints94 wrote:Nah, he turns the ball over to much, at least Miles has pace and can use it.FQF wrote:I think Geary is a definite starter.Saints94 wrote:IN: Milne, Schneider and Baker

Out Geary,Dempster,Miles,Mini
IN Schneider,Miline,Baker,Steven
Miles and Geary a bit stiff Miles is quick and has done well and geary has done well in defence.
Steven i think is a proven goal kicker and has that x factor that you need in finals,he is allso a good tackeler. He allso has pace and can be a third option either forward or on the ball gives us more flexability.
I am leaving Armo in because he has done well with the hard ball gets is strong and will allways give you a contest.Which frees up lenny to be more damagaing in the on the ball.

In Milne Schneider and Baker
Out Miles Geary and Armitage
I wouldnt mind seeing Dawson dropped and one of the 3 outs retained but I dont think the selection comittee would agree, I think we look better when we are a little bit shorter but more mobile down back, Fisher under a cloud makes that even less likely. Goddard and dempster both capable of playing taller if needed IMO. Not sure who I would retain from the 3 though, Armo a genuine mid, Miles taller and quick, Geary forces turn overs and has more senior footy?
