Armo

Post: # 978143Post FQF »

Didn't get to watch the game (fortunately it seems).

I noticed Armo and Blake topped the DreamTeam points for our team.

Does this reflect how he really went on the day? Was he any good? Worth keeping next week?

Feel free to comment on Blake as well.

Armo was our 7th highest DT scorer and our 11th highest Super Coach scorer.

The supercoach scores are in fact the Champion data ranking points, and they take into acount a whole heap of things such has efficiency, effectives, turnovers, hardball gets, ect. So it is a more realist judge of how a player performed.

Arm was good, but he has played better in the past. Certainly not one of our best for mine.

Well if he goes then McQualter has to go too.

Mini keeps getting selected. I didn't see anything today to suggest he did anything different. Ross loves Mini. Ross does not like Armo.

With that theory in mind how will Zac miss out?

He was s*** along with Roo, kosi, Mcqualter, dawson, gwilt, miles, fisher, gilbert, geary, mcevoy, take your pick.

How do I come up with this you ask.

Well out of our so called best in the team, who stood out yesterday. While Hayes, Dal and Montagna got the possesions on the board they didn't seem to impact on the game. I must be blind but I couldn't even remeber seeing Dal that much let Jones who came away with 20 disposals.

While I think there will be some changes I don't think Armo will make way. He has been out for alot of weeks and is getting better.

It was a crap game and a few have to lift. Not the end of the world though. Geelong next week will be interesting.

The question is will we have a strong team.

Thought he wass passable and did a lot of heavy inside work - certainly not our worst and would be stiff to miss out next week. But he does often seem to be on the first out list ?????? I assume the the cat (S.D) will probably use up another of his 9 lives and stay in.
We had a lot of ordinary players.

Very very difficult to rate most of the 22 on this performance. Only four earned their pay in my opinion: Goddard,Hayes, Blake and Montagna. The main concern is whether the whole group has enough focus left to become positive in a week before we take on the Cats after such a poor display. RL has admitted they were trying to avoid injury. I have always believed that is when you run into them.
The only impression I gained was that it was a training run to sharpen up our handball.

They will have to be judged though, because there are players banging on the door who will be definite ins. Milne, Schneider. And some with a strong chance. Eddy, Baker.

His inside tackling intensity could be very needed against Cats.

That said.....if he goes missinbg for long periods he's a liability.

That said.....he can jag a goal.....could he be a sneaky fwd optuion?

That said his ability to run/put immediate fwd pressure on opposition fwds isnt as good as say an Eddy who runs like a mad man at you.

That said, Im confused.

Eddy vs Armo

On paper, Armo would win hands down. But really it has been question facing the match committee for two years now.

It would seem that when they are both fit, Eddy is the preferred option.

On paper means little. Eddy's performances in his previous 2 games before injury were his best for the club. Eddys ferocity at the ball and the opposition are 2nd to none.

That said Armo's done extremely well since returning to the team. His contested ball and takling have been great. Difficult to leave him outve the team.

Is there a place for both of them?

At whose expense?

Geary? No, been very solid.

Mcqualter? Definitely. I think Eddy could perform this role better than Mcqualter is doing it at the moment.

Dempster? Yes, however if he is being replaced, it will be by Baker.

Definately have to drop McQualter and Dempster. Both were hopeless yesterday. Dempster is an absolute fruit cake. He hasn't got the ability to solve a noughts and crosses puzzle. McQualter just get the footy enough. All he does is chase butt and he's not even good enough for that
