Peake..a positive

Post: # 978119Post saintsRrising »

No a lot of positives in todays game, buta big one for me was the form of Peake.

Ina game when many Saints seemed either unable and/or unwilling to run and create I thought he was really good.

He ran to create options in space...he ran in support...

His disposal is also vastly better than it was at the start of the year....and today he was one of the few Saints able to use the ball to the advantage of team-mates.

His offensive game was also very solid.

Was he playing for his spot today? One of the few who had a dip.

His kicking reminds me a lot of Clint Jones a year or so ago. Did they both come from the same WA club?

He now has no offensive side, or confidence.

The way he went backwards after taking a mark only 30 odd m out from goal to Gwilt who had to instead blaze away from outside 30m was terrible.

Been thinking about Mini, why has he gone from being a dependable kick for goal to not even taking a shot if he can help it. My only conclusion is - groin problem. Big groin problem. Could explain a lot.

Could be...he did have an operation pre-season on it.

It wasn't 30 out, he was going to have to hit it from 45, and that's the extreme limit of his range. He went backwards to Jimmy, a much bigger kick, who would have goaled if the captain didn't spill a mark on the goal line.

Not really a bad decision IMO ...

Earling tackling? Have you not heard of this new adaption, bigger than the grapple and will leave the wing tackle for dead. Can't believe you have not heard of it!
