Your favourite inter-state Saints trip?

I've seen victories in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Launceston and Canberra.

But, my favourite inter-state trip would be for the victory over Freo this year at Subi. Great game and fantastic pre and post game function. Had a big grin painted across my face for the red eye flight back to Sydney that night.

Been to Adelaide and Sydney. Both were losses. The only thing that was good on going to Adelaide was the flight back home with the saints team.

Adelaide 09 - i think we got about 30 free kicks vs 5? they were going spastic and i loved it.
Port 09 - after going over there each year only to see us play like crap in the rain, it was good to smash them that time.
North 08 - at the Gold Coast. we got smacked in the first quarter and made a slow comeback

there are many more, but they are some of the best ive been to.

Got absolutely drenched but was right down on the fence (where you needed to be to actually see the players) and screamed support at the boys every time there was a stoppage in my vicinity.
Roo took a big grab in defence in the dying minutes to seal a very memorable victory - then i got home after a few celebratory pints and saw footage of two now former st kilda figures embracing in the tunnel post-match before walking into the rooms - found the footage quite stirring at the time (and still do because of the memories it invokes), even if not all saints supporters can reflect upon said figures with fondness anymore.

Was also in Sydney for the 1pt win where Joey dribbled through the winning behind last year. A memorable night not so much for the game itself (although was quite a thrilling finish) but for the seemingly neverending renditions of our team song in the pub across the road from the SCG post-match. Good times.

In Adelaide I think it was 2005 final when Banger was on fire and I think Gwilt kicked a couple in his ? second game.
Travelled from Perth with an Adelaide fan. He at least had a good win at the casino that night.

i was at that one also. although it was out 18th win in a row for some reason i just wasnt happy. i think we all got a bit greedy at that time of the year and were expecting a thrashing and a premiership in 2 months time....

Every interstate trip is a memorable one,win lose or draw. Something about the after hours shenanigans when you are in another state?

I've jinxed us when I've gone interstate,only seen 3 victories from about 12 trips. The hardest one was the 04 prelim...
Best victory was the Joey point one last year in Sydney. We were para,and even though we'd won the past 18 matches,the final 5 minutes of that much all of a sudden became the most important 5 minutes of our lives....and we celebrated like it too!

Had to cancel all the interstae trips this year. Have replaced them with a trip to Vegas....leave friday,should be interesting....

Not that it is interstate for me But I loved the Saints v Roos at Carrara game 2 yrs ago.

But my fav interstate game is the 101 victory v Swans in 1998, cracker of a night that didn't finish till the sun was shining brightly

My first ever interstate footy trip was the Sirengate match vs Freo in Launceston. 06 I think. We finally got around to going to one, and it ended up being that one...memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Funnily enough I commented to my husband at half time that the siren was very soft and I could barely hear it

The only other interstate one I've been to was Round 1 in Sydney this year. Loved it and the club gave us great seats right behind the cheersquad - for free - even better. I only called up for some help with where to book to sit with saints, and they put some aside for me...awesome. Kids had a ball. ANd we won...even better.

I'm looking forward to getting next years fixture and choosing a trip for next year. Might make it an anuual event now

Arrived in Adelaide with my brother and a mate at about 12 noon. Wasn't sure what to do with ourselves so we thought, stuff it let's just get to the ground. Had heard all sorts of stories about the Port supporters whilst interstate. Started drinking in the Crow bar that's part of the ground. By 6pm we were surrounded by Port Adelaide supporters. None of them wanted to kill us - they all wanted to know what footy was like in Melbourne. In the end they were shouting us Bourbon and cokes!

Sat down around 10,000 Port supporters behind the goals left of screen. Screaming our lungs out - not one Port person said a thing to us. Walking out of the ground, depressed even angry, not one Port supporter came over to rub it in. At the bars in Adelaide that night, same thing. They were all too excited to have a go at us, and were happy to just discuss the game.

Sadly we lost - but I will always remember how we were treated when we went over there, and despite the jokes about Sth Australians, I'll always have fond memories of that game and the night in Sth Australia.

The 98 swans smashing was a beauty, got trashed in sydney, nearly got hit by spider in the post match, nearly got lynched by the swans fans at the ground. Ugly and beautiful night all in one.

I get a bit of white line fever in the stands,so once the game starts I just can't contain myself,that night I couldn't control myself,the stakes were to big,so I provoked a little bit of a riot when I stood up after our second goal and gave a choking gesture to there masses

We had a few rowdy saints around us,so there was plenty of banter between rival supporters. The boys in front of us were close to punches. We saw a few punches thrown,and landed,funnily enough they were between Port supporters .
We were threatened but unscathed. I said in the last quarter,if we win this there is no way out of here alive,except one way,run out on the ground...i would of done it. After the game we didn't cop anything,although when we went around to the rooms two romper stompers walking past grabbed and started screaming in my face,a mate took care of them....

That was another great trip. I'd taken my missus to the Yarra Valley during the week, we drive back to Melbourne airport on Friday morning, she boards a flight back to Sydney, I take a flight to the Gold Coast with the team!

Start the match as despised under-dogs, we were 6 wins, 7 losses at that point from memory. Roos kicked the first five majors, but we registered what was a rarity for the Saints at the time, a come-from-behind win. Got us back into the top eight.
