I know he wasnt named in the best players for Sandy or even kicked a goal.
But as along as he got the ball a bit and got through the game uninjured.

Well you're perhaps being reasonably dramatic.B W and R all over wrote:Not being too dramatic but there's a fair chance he'll never play senior football for St Kilda again when you think about it.
Maybe if you took the 'fair' out it would read better. Yes he may not play for the Saints again but there's quite a few players who may never play again, or play at all. If Armo can stay fit and play well he remains a chance for a call up this year IMO.
saint58, I believe there is some mention of Armo in the Sandy match thread. If I recall, although he wasn't named in the best he got through the match and got a bit of it. But I wasn't there; that's just what I read.

I listened to the second half on VFL.com after the Saints game turned out to be a little boring. No disrespect but it was kind of one sided. So I listened to the VFL game and watched the saints and the melbourne, richmond game all at once.
Dave did get the ball from what I heard when he was on the field but obviously coming off his second knee injury and being out for a minumun of nearly9 weeks over the last 11 then I wasn't expecting him to come out and dominate. Add to that his knee more than likely isn't 100% yet I would imagine(hoping) they were looking after him and giving him limited time on the field.
He got through the game which for me is the main thing and I'm very happy for him.
I thought most would have dropped off Dave now that saints had such a massive win. Saints don't still need him now do they.??

No doubt his chances would be well served by a wet September, but I have an inkling (based on nothing more than a personal hunch) that he will play finals and his trial games will be Rds 21 and 22 (test him out against a quickish opponent then put him through the physical grind at AAMI). His kind thrive in finals footy. Just a question of how quick he can get back to near full fitness. Surely actual game time would help better than anything.DWOODROW wrote:I listened to the second half on VFL.com after the Saints game turned out to be a little boring. "The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

if any player can't cut it for one reason or twenty then either we continue to carry them like passengers on our list or we move them on and try someone else.....
I don't know how long a player is kept on the list in the hope he makes it but no doubt i'll get some answers in October or November....
i'm not overly sentimental so i dont care who moves on...

only mail I have heard is from here and is based on him not playing in the seniors, his brother even hinted at him wanting to stay at the saints.
So saying the mail is pretty strong is a bit of a stretch.

No Mooksy, according to Woodrow and Dr. Spaceman, Armo's brother will step in and save the day. Pity some in high places at the saints will determine where he goes next year. If you were to believe some on here, the club is in the habit of negotiating with family members rather than the player and his management.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Thanks Dr spaceman will check it out as long as he got through the game he can build on that for next week.Dr Spaceman wrote:Well you're perhaps being reasonably dramatic.B W and R all over wrote:Not being too dramatic but there's a fair chance he'll never play senior football for St Kilda again when you think about it.
