Where do we want the cats to finish

Post: # 969264Post plugger66 »

If the dogs win the next 2 games and we win next week the cats could finish fourth. Is that our preferred option. It certainly is mine.

As long as we finish top 4 who cares who we play, we are either good enough or we are not.

Bring on the best every week and go from there.

I guess so.

But at some point or another you are going to have to play and beat the very best teams to get the big one.

So I am resigned to the fact that regardless of where we finish, be it cats dogs or pies, we will need to be at our very best.

i'm as worried about collingwood and the dogs as i am about the cats.

all very good sides, but sides we have beaten this year.

i don't care where the cats finish.

umm, I would shyte myself if we had to play the Pies in week 1 of the finals.

I can handle us playing the Dogs or Cats though....prefer Footscray.

At least we control that situation. 3 wins and we cant play them.

that scenario was nicely worded.

but that involved the dogs beating the cats with serious ladder positions on the line.

i'd back the cats to win 9 times out of 10.

Don't get too excited yet......we beat an absolute rabble today that had lost about 10 on the trot this year.

IF we win comfortably against North AND Richmond, then I'm happy to sound more positive about going deep into September.

Ahh no excitement yet, too many years supporting the Saints eh and even if we roll the next 2 sides makes no difference come September

Look at it this way: Collingwood is in absolute peak form at the moment.

In a month and a half, it is very unlikely they will still be in such peak form.

So might be better to play the Pies later in the finals series, e.g. the Prelim.

We've gotta beat three of the Dogs, Pies and Cats to win the flag, so it doesn't really matter which order it is in.

Would still prefer to avoid the Cats until the big one, as IMO they are the best side in the comp, and the best finals side.

I think the pies have peaked too soon, Geelong are the worry and the dogs laying below the radar also are of some concern.

Todays game in Adelaide Bullies vs Crows will actually decide where they finish as they have the hardest run home. We still need two more wins to lock in top 4 nothing is guaranteed until all games are completed in Round 22.

Dogs will finish 4th or 5th.
Never rated the dogs as a team, they dont beat anyone decent, and at this stage they are loosing by a goal to adelaide so i cant see them beating the cats next week.

Dogs actually have to win this weeks first. Cuurently can't shake off the Crows.

Anyway I would rather play Cats week one. Win, and we match up ok against them and most likely we get to play the Dogs in the PF fora GF spot.

You avin a larf P76?

Why does it matter if Geelong's 4th, 3rd or 2nd.

Assuming we are top 4 we have to win 3 games against very good sides.

I would prefer Geelong and the Filth having to beat the shyte out of each other in the first week.

I haven't forgotten just how hard it is to even make a GF, let alone win one....I think we have a mental advantage having overcome that hurdle last year.

Unless Freo works themselves into the top-4, there's no circumstance that would have us travelling at any point in the finals. In that sense, there's no advantage to finishing second over third, as the teams you'd play are exactly the same in the same place. Even first is a questionable distinction as long as all the teams are melbourne teams.

We've made finals. Any combination of two St Kilda wins or Fremantle losses locks up a top-4 spot. After that, it's a case of beat who's in fron tof us, and I have no preference as to who we play in what order. I just want to be the last team standing at the end of it all.

Yeah nah pleasing positive
