Just an observation after watching the replay

Post: # 961570Post fingers »

Just watched the replay and I'm quietly excited about where we are at. I feel like the boys are building.

Roo is coming back to form
Kosi found something last night before he dislocated his finger
Gram starting to penetrate
Ray was good
Dempster was strong last night - took some gutsy marks
Gwilt still good

There is more to come from Montagna, Goddard, Dal Santo who have been quiet (I think) over the last few weeks.

Last night was as good as the Hawks get but we have more to come. All things heading in the right direction.

Tend to agree if we can get them right.

BJ still isn't right, looks to have lost weight? Dal and Joey were playing at 50%.

Roo is getting there, reckon he was about 80% last night...compared to 30-40% from his first two matches.
Gram see above.

Positive signs if we get it right....no hope if we don't.

Not surprised Dal had a fairly quiet night. Most players who have their nose broken would be quiet.

Maybe BJ has given his weight to Grammy. I would suggest that neither Gram or BJ are more than one KG lighter or heavier than they have been since the start of the season and if people can tell the difference with that little loss or gain they must have great eyes.

By the way I thought BJ was great.

Agree. There is heaps to like about where we're at right now.

My only concern is the costly turnovers we keep dishing up at crucial times.

Especially in the back half.

What...all players are within 1kg of there preseason weight are they? You're starting to sound silly....despite your love ins with your brotherhood(the AFL umpiring department) you usually speak a bit of sense....I'll put it down to being early in the morning or something

Start of the first footy game of the year. Not pre season.

Well said.

Cant believe the poor skills by foot we displayed time and again......good players doing it to.

I too walked away thinking Hawks were at their optimum....we have some in the tank if I gauge us to last year.

We are still a mid rotation short.

Goddard, Joey, Gram, Dal can all have more damaging games....not to mention Riewoldt.

dempster is a liability. heart in mouth when the ball went near him. held on to a couple of marks. but he has no speed or agility at all.

Bullsh%t, have the couurage to admit that he had a good game last night. Don't feel you have to keep bagging him b/c you went over the top during the week. He's an average player who ocacsionally plays well. last night he played well. You lose credability if you choose to bag him for the sake of it.

Gilbert does it a bit doesn't he. It's a real shame because otherwise he is an outstanding player. Whenever he tries the little chip it is a worry. I prefer it when he launches them long.

Gilbo was not alone last night. BJ made some critical mistakes that were very un BJ like

Would it kill people to admit some good components of players games, nobody is asking anyone to give a BOG's here, just the OP's observations of some nice things done by certain players.

The key word here is 'building' which I agree with.

Dempster was excellent last night and hopefully he can build on that performance. We would have lost without him.

Ofcourse Ross Lyon has no idea and you are the expert.

Complete lazy tripe!

Zac was good last night, but why let actual events get in the way of slagging a player.
