We were the first game of the round. Obviously they have been instructed a different way this week than last week. Over umpired cos we are the first game of the round. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the games pan out this round.
I pointed out in another thread that Kosi and milne had 5 frees paid against them each. 10 frees paid against forwards for one team. 5 against and only 1 for, milne had none for. Not right IMO

Last week it was Scott McBurney, Ray Chamberlain and Michael Vozzo and my first reaction then was "well that game is lost" and it was.
My gut reaction tonight was no different when out comes Michael Vozzo, Scott McBurney and can't remember the other ones name. But one again they lived up to my expectations.
And to top off a night of confusion, frustration, bewilderment and straight out anger, I had a Hawthorn supporter on the train tell me that the umpires saved St Kilda at the end.
(And then he went for the "Milne is ------") That gentleman got a mouthful on both issues!

All around the ground players were given 4 or 5 seconds to get the ball out but one of Milnes was paid after about 1 second.ozrulestrace wrote:The first one for the night was awarded, against Milne around the 20 minute mark of the first quarter, so not one infringement was worth awarding a free kick up until that time? Of course it had to be against Milne.AlpineStars wrote:not many holding the balls though, unless your name is Milne!
Wake me up when September ends.

Not only did they point the wrong way but when they changed the direction of the free kick, they did not allow players the opportunity to change from their attacking position, running off their players, to a defensive one. Definitely disadvantaged us several times!saint66au wrote:Ive never seen a game where the umpires pointed the wrong way for free kicks so many times

Umpire's take on things?plugger66 wrote:Strange days indeed.
What did you think?
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Yes poor tonight but suited the game. Ground was poor and our decision making occasionly was poor but having said that it was a great game and as they say there is always a winner and a loser in a draw and we were clearly the winner tonight.Thinline wrote:Umpire's take on things?plugger66 wrote:Strange days indeed.

One atrocious one where he was tackled around the neck!AlpineStars wrote:not many holding the balls though, unless your name is Milne!
Overall, a totally different interpretation of the rules than what we have had for the rest of the season!
I think that we had over 70 tackles tonight, but such a very small percentage of those were given holding the ball.
Yes he may have.plugger66 wrote:He may have just had a poor game.Iceman234 wrote:Either Shaun Ryan (25) is a cheat or a Hawk supporter or an anti-Saint or had money on the result.
Just watched the replay and he was a disgrace.
Or he may be corrupt, a cheat, a Hawk supporter or anti-Saint, he may even have had money on the result.
He was terrible tonight. Terrible. But you support him p66 if you feel you have to.
Not supporting him but if you logically think any of those things happened tonight why would you even bother going. sorry but i rate AFL footy a bit more than a Danny Green fight.Iceman234 wrote:Yes he may have.plugger66 wrote:He may have just had a poor game.Iceman234 wrote:Either Shaun Ryan (25) is a cheat or a Hawk supporter or an anti-Saint or had money on the result.
