We missed Dal
He's class around the packs was sorley missed today, their mifield was all over us. Hayes tried his guts out as usual, as did Joey, but Dals finish with the ball is what we needed. Need him back next week.
Hunter Clark 2024 StKilda Saints Premiership captain.
You're probably right, but he lack of presence was felt.saintkid wrote:Both would not have made any difference today.
I thought maybe Goddard would do the job today (that Dal Santo would normally do), but I thought he didn't really have much of an impact. Everyone had an off day, Hayes tried very hard though.

Dal would have hit targets and given some run that we lacked.battye wrote:You're probably right, but he lack of presence was felt.saintkid wrote:Both would not have made any difference today.

Ray, Gram and Peake all had average games and it showed.

What would have helped is a few guys kicking straight.
Collingwood slotted goals from set shots on extreme angles and from long range.
St Kilda could not kick straight from short range dead in front from set shots.
Schneider 4 goals, Riewoldt 2 extra goals, Koschitzke an extra goal, Geary a simple goal, and the game has a competitive result.
Going into time on in the final quarter St Kilda had more scoring shots than Collingwood despite having played crap all day.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Dal plus scoreboard pressure (kicking goals not points) would have got us over the line.
In fact just kicking 16 goals 6 (vs their 15goals 10), with or without Dal would have also got us over the line.
and if my Auntie had a beard she'd be my uncle .

We didn't need someone to get in and under, Lenny does that. We needed some to use the ball constructively. Armo's not fit anyway, hasn't played for weeks.Milan Faletic wrote:Thought the same. Not a huge Dempster fan, I am afraid.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
He played last week but yes needs at least one more in the twos.Bernard Shakey wrote:We didn't need someone to get in and under, Lenny does that. We needed some to use the ball constructively.
