I usually like Lyon, but he was attacking Fisher and particularly Gilbert from very early on. With Gilbert in particular I can't say I blame him. He was saying he might be an attacking defender, but he's a defender first and foremost and if the opposition has just kicked four or five goals, might be a good idea to defend and try and stem the flow. His opponents were quite often scoring

Danny Frawley blamed one goal on Gilbert getting caught up in all the "All Australian" hype.
That is a quote right there....

triple commentry
not one to post often however i totally agree with what spud was saying . Being close to ground level you could see gilbert was zoning off a lot more than standing side my side his man . so either he was looking for cheap possestions or defending neither he was doing very effectivly . Yes gone are the days of a player staying in postion but when your 4 goals down play accountable footablall . We werent getting the mids coming back to help so you haveto back yrself in against yr man and at least make an honest contest.

What possible opinion does G Lyon bring?
He has no experience with a winning culture, his best incite into footy has been his kids books.
Spud is best at the pre game show on Fox and Brayshaw is another team's president that has more understanding of the boring game than this one. He has destroyed his club as well.
