Davis 176cm, Medhurst 178cm, Didak 181cm, Sidebottom 183cm, Beams 179cm, Thomas 186cm- all able to rotate fwd and be dangerous...all quick
we have
Gwilt 188cm, Gilbert 194cm, Fisher 192cm, Blake 191cm, Geary 181cm, Dawson 195cm....not a geat deal of mobilty
Carlton and Essendon both undid us with small fwds....it will be avg conditions at the mcg and Dempster smashed Sherman....i find it strange???

Yeah, very strange. He is an emergency isn't he? Hopefully he makes the cut by Saturday afternoon - he has been good over the last few weeks, doesn't deserve to be dropped especially when Pattison (who was admittedly solid last week, but nothing more) is retained.

I keep reading on here that Dempster is good at playing on small forwards, but I'm struggling to recall his ever having done so. I therefore wonder if this isn't a bit of an urban myth.
Dempster is 192 cm and isn't especially quick.
His main asset is his enormous stamina. IMO his best defensive role is on dangerous hard running players, eg: as a defensive forward playing on a loose man at the back. If he didn't play for us, he'd probably go ok on Nick Riewoldt.

Body wise on such a heavy track, I had doubts on max.
