Right now he's definately in our best 22.
Why wouldn't he be???
When Raph is fit, he would take Peake's spot since Gram is now back to assume the role of our main outside player. It goes to show how deep our list runs though since Peake has been quite handy.
Raph may have lost his spot to Dempster.
I'd be suprised if Peake lost his spot atm.
During the 3rd quarter when we've broken games open Peake has been really good.
Quick players often struggle for accuracy as they are usually either struggling to slow the heart rate back down, or kicking on the run at full pace. Peake was kicking more goals when he played as a winger but lost the pace when standing around. Like Lovett his best possy is probably a running back that has a bit of licence to run forward and break the lines. It will be interesting to see how he goes setting up riewoldt and Kosi when we have 2 genuine marking targets. It will make that forward kick easier for his type of player. The kick into the forward line looks to slow him down at the moment -if he had options I think his game could go to another level again. Travis Varcoe is probably the only real improvement at geelong this season as he seems to get them moving as they stagnate. Podsiadly just seems to take some of the goals the mids used to kick. The other role that Peake may want to be played in is a tight small defender like Baker. If he could cut off supply and move the ball quickly it could be a nice fit.
I think that sometimes we also underestimate the time required to "fit in". It could not have been easy going from the, then, basket case of Freo to the highly structured game plan of the saints? I believe he is getting better and better as he learns, knows, and indeed plays the game to the team structure.
