Some great courageous efforts of late.
His diposal isn't great but I can't figure out why people him criticise his more than others.
Go Peakey!

he ought to bring back the torp.degruch wrote:If only he could kick as long as he can kick high...some work needed there, but great around the ground, hot in tight contests. Happy he's at the club.
i'm very pleased with his progress. i had him marked down as a rather soft outsider, but i've changed my opinion on him.
took a strong, gutsy mark and copped a whack, then went back and slotted a goal. puts his body on the line and gives us run.

Peake is coming along very nicely. He came to us as a soft outside runner, typically of Fremantle's style, but gradually he's learning to play tough, uncompromising Saints Footy under the tutelage of Ross Lyon. Farren Ray went through a similar learning curve when he joined the Saints and look at him now. If Peake can reach Ray's level we'll have done very well.bigcarl wrote:i'm very pleased with his progress. i had him marked down as a rather soft outsider, but i've changed my opinion on him.

That mark in the 3rd quarter would be on the team highlights reel this week.SainterK wrote:That mark was fantastic...
That sort of mark is what is required for us to win a flag.
Efforts like that are really inspiring to see and a sign that he's willing to bleed for the club.
Good signs from Peake imo.
He's improving every week.

He is in our best 22 while he is in current form. Don't look at stats look at the pressure he applies when running through the middle, even when he isn't gaining possession, he unsettles the opposition with his pace. We wanted Lovett because we knew it is something that is very hard to match up on and we really needed someone who can break the lines with genuine pace. When we have Gram back up to speed and Peake running off the backline it will be a more exciting brand of footy. Chuck in Raph and we look to have a bit of pace somehow.

I disagree with saying he is not in our best 22. I do think our best 22 is becoming closer by the week. By that I mean, the gap between the top 16 and the bottom 6 is closing each passing week.
Peake has certainly proven to be a handy pick up and he has some pace which is something we really need.
It was one glaring omission in the GF last year - some good midfield pace.

Question...
Can he stand up under pressure?
And for that matter, can Farren stand up under pressure? That's my 1 query of him remaining

When Raph is fit, he would take Peake's spot since Gram is now back to assume the role of our main outside player. It goes to show how deep our list runs though since Peake has been quite handy.Leo.J wrote:Right now he's definately in our best 22.midas_touch wrote:Still not in the best 22, but 'steak knives' Peake has shown to be a solid contributor to the team.
Why wouldn't he be???
