They better protect Riewoldt!
After what happened with Baker and Johnson, the umpires and tribunal better protect Riewoldt if anyone even looks like they will want to rough him up a bit. Any jumper punches, off the ball bumps or anything, i want the offending players brought down. I don't mind coping it with Baker if our main man gets protected aswell. Let's wait and see what happens! I won't be holding my breathe though...
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

As he could when he had an injured shoulder and was being assisted off and those filthy snipers picked him off anyway - clearly now if that happened Michael and Scott woud each be off for a long holiday - pffffffffffffffffft, as if.Bernard Shakey wrote:He's a big boy now and can look after himself.
Baker's Law was exactly that - Baker's Law.
Never been an AFL conspiracy theorist until the New Law came in - now I'm a believer.

i want to see someone prosecuted under the "baker rule".Bernard Shakey wrote:He's a big boy now and can look after himself.
it will just give the league an avenue to show its "integrity".

I think the intimation is that he will generally be roughed up because he is great.Batnoe wrote:Why?
Are they going to punch his hamstring?
And that Baker's Law needs to protect him.
Should have been called Michael/Scott's Law many years ago and we wouldn't be at all concerned in 2010.
Filthy sniper rats led by the prick who sold his grandmother to try to buy a flag for the Brisbane All-Stars, hope we physically and mentally slaughter them within the confines of the rules as they stand at the moment...

Exactly how does the "Baker Rule" work? Taking into account that Roo is fully fit, I fail to understand where you're coming from. Also, how do you attack someone with a soft tissue injury?bigcarl wrote:i just want to see someone prosecuted under the "baker rule".Bernard Shakey wrote:He's a big boy now and can look after himself.

Go easy Bernard. I'd like to know how it works as well. Perhaps someone gets a couple of weeks for a little powder puff jumper punch.Bernard Shakey wrote:Exactly how does the "Baker Rule" work? That's cool, thought you might have been worried they'd hit him in the head. I think that's how the "Baker Rule" works.bigcarl wrote:Go easy Bernard. I'd like to know how it works as well. Simple rule - your name's Baker, we'll make up a new rule if and when we have to.Bernard Shakey wrote:Exactly how does the "Baker Rule" work? Precedent - Round 13.
Previous precedent - We don't need one nor can we refer to one.

Went right off that day, seriously we abused every single filthy Lions person in sight. No wonder I hate them so much.Bernard Shakey wrote:Where were you when Scott and Michael got stuck into him? Not specifically Roo related, but I've had the feeling this week that the Lions are going to go all out this weekend.
They've had enough I reckon - season's over, can't make finals, Vossy will be pissed and so to the players.
Just have this feeling he's going to send them out all agro and ready to go the punch. Line in the sand type stuff.
Hope Gardy plays!

The 'Baker' law has already been shown to be exclusively applied to one player - Baker.
Baker cops 7 weeks for stopping in the path of Farmer in 2007. In 2010 Rd 3 Leigh Brown does exectly the same thing to Roo (only difference is Roo does not break his cheekbone. Through luck rather than design) and gets off at the MRP scott free. THis is despite the umpire seeing the entire thing and paying a free kick to Roo!!! It tells me one of two things, that blocking off the ball is worthy of a free kick but NOT a report, OR blocking off the ball is only reportable when Baker is involved.
I have absolutely no problem with any suspension handed out to Bakes IF the same rules applied to other players.

I remember that! We had a free kick and goal before they even got to bounce it I think?starsign wrote:I seem to remember the Dees at the MCG going all out out testing Roo on retuning from a shoulder injury one match
They were at it pretty severely prior to the bounce then through the 1st Q while we banged on 6 or 7 goals!!
