Lake gone for 2-3 weeks as per new 'Baker's Law'

Post: # 951811Post saint75 »

Anyone seen the last quarter? Unnecessary punch to the stomach of Franklin by Lake after Franklin kicked a goal. Quite a punch actually!

Lets see how serious the AFL are about the new 'Baker Rules'!

My thoughts exactly. Lets see how serious they are now

MRP simply has to onsend.

Test no 1.

Watch this space.

And if they don't? Then what?

I can't see much happening if they don't...we are clearly now in a competition with different rules for different players.

I haven't seen the incident, but my money is currently on "no case to answer".

He didn't touch him. Buddy might get weeks for diving.

The umpire was right there, too........... Why didn't Buddy get a free kick?

.....but at least 3 weeks for Lake under 'The Baker Laws'

What would have happened if at the tribunal Baker had:

"pleaded guilty, conditional on the tribunal applying consistency from this point onwards"

I would have loved to see their response

Definite contact.

Absolutely so.

Doesn't mean he should be reported.

But given recent events he must be. Surely.

Agree completely, that is why I came on here to post something about this. That punch was as hard as Bakers if not harder. We all should ring up radio stations and post things wherever we can and make sure all of these instances are looked out and dealt with seriously. He deserves 2 to 3 based on what happened to Bakes, but I won't want to hold my breathe waiting for it to happen!

Horrible night for the Dogs. They'll lose Lake. Johnson hobbling. Minson ankle. Reid TWO shoulders. There was another looking proppy but I didn't recognise him. And no sign of Aker to boot.

Poor them.

after the goal.. Buddy celebrating with arms outstretched...
jogging towards a team-mate(shouldn't be expecting any contact as the game hasn't re-commenced).....
Lake runs in and sucker punches Buddy in the stomach ('a la Hall on Maguire).....Buddy goes to ground sucking air......

"Not the sort of thing we should have to put up with.."

..over to you MRP!

But at the start of the year all the Experts were pencilling them in as Flag certainties. I mean, they'd won the NAB Cup and they had BBBBBBBBBBBH. According to these experts, they had us well and truly covered even before Roo went down.

So don't pity them Thinline, for they'll still be Premiers.

THE EXPERTS TOLD US SO!

No, I don't want Lake to go for that...... but he'll have to under the MRP's new "Code of AFL Ethics and the Prevention of Unmanly Behaviour on the field of Sporting Endeavour"

And in the end this is the problem with last week. A shame now that there is quite this much confusion. Umpires apparently did nothing wrong last week yet this week they have changed completely and are on high alert. Players have been calling their managers saying they are confused. And I think the MRP are going to be very confused come review time this Monday...

Thanks for that. Harves was and always will be my favourite ever player. He was just such an inspiration to me during my life when things were tough and I needed motivation to work harder and get through things i just looked at Harves and kept on going how he used to do.
I love that quote from Voss, it really sums it up how unbelievable Harves was, to go for as long as he did, but always play to such a high standard all of that time aswell! Go saints!
