It just doesn't make sense? What is he on about? How is what he saying relevant to current issues regarding us?

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

The best I can make of it is that even though he believes the saints are unable to be sportsmen like and cheated their way to beating the cats people usually praise the winner.rodgerfox wrote:But does anyone know what he's referring to?
It's really quite odd.
Seems to me a backhanded compliment or more like a cheap shot

Squealed to high heaven during the lead up to the Melbourne-Hawthorn merger vote. Told the Melb members to stand up and be counted etc.I Love Peter Kiel wrote:...his "man of the people" act...
Went quiet when it was published that he wasn't even a Melbourne member and therefore couldn't vote himself.

[quote="White Winmar"]Barracks for Melbourne. Far right wing conservative old fart,
Please don't make the mistake of thinking that because we all barrack for St Kilda we all share your prejudices.
It's funny because i've always thought of Mitchell as an annoying lefty bozo....like I said he paints himself as the 'hero of the proletariat' but he's got his snout in the trough. Just because some radio guy annoys you they don't have to be right wing...for example those self-important ABC people like Philip Adams or Robyn "the Science is SETTLED!' Williams. The ABC has ONE token conservative...Michael Duffy.

What an odd reference.
I can't remember a time in the last couple of years that we have been any thing other than gracious in defeat. I don't think a losing coach on grand final day has spoken as kindly of the victor than Ross last year.
Unless he means that we don't know because we don't lose often.

Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.
