Has any club used the new rule to promote a rookie at mid-season?
Are we going to?

They are not promotions to the senior list.borderbarry wrote:Has any club used the new rule to promote a rookie at mid-season?

They remain rookies but become a "Nominated Rookie" and as such eligible for senior selection.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Is there any point in us putting JWS on the LTI? I thought the only thing to come of it was being able to promote a rookie. And we haven't done that yet?Bernard Shakey wrote:No reason to promote anyone at the moment and it doesn't matter about mid season promotion, as Jesse Smith is a long term injury.

...and we have been able to elevate one all season, as Hayes the only veteran outside the list.Bernard Shakey wrote:No reason to promote anyone at the moment and it doesn't matter about mid season promotion, as Jesse Smith is a long term injury.
So we have three spots on the list for rookies to be elevated, if we wanted.

But whose spot will he take? If he wont play senior footy, no point promoting him.borderbarry wrote:With Bakes out for the rest of the Home and Away Season, I thought it would be a good time to try out young Simpkin as a defender. He has been very consistent over the last two years.
