STEVEN BAKER CHANT ON SUNDAY
What about just a basic:
Steeee-ven Baker
Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap
The guys I call the Proclaimers (because of the glasses), on the Level 3 Moorabbin Wing could get it going at the start of the game while the players are doing their laps and warm up before the game.
He will hear it and so will the players.
They might stop banners or black arm bands or No 10's written on arms BUT THEY CAN'T STOP US!!!!!
What do you think?

How about everyone holding up crossed wrists when they chant (like BJ did that time for his brother). This with the no.10 posters would have huge impact on tv if enough of us do it. It would show our support for Bakes and the team.
BJ has arrived!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a funny image of people trying to cross arms, hold up a sign and clap, all at the same time. But I'm going to try.bendigo bob wrote:How about everyone holding up crossed wrists when they chant (like BJ did that time for his brother). Any choreographers around?

It doesn't have to be that obvious or even negative. It's more as a vote of support for Bakes. A united chant within the club. That's my take. He is doing it really hard and I believe it's more important to let him know that we support him. A negative chant will only provoke the idiots in the crowd.Sainternist wrote:I'd prefer "NO JUSTICE FOR BAKES!". But as long as it's not a feeble chant, I will join in.

A lot of the time these sort of ideas are built up but receive no traction come game day.
It is critically important that we follow through with one or more of the ideas being thrown about on the forum, such as this one and the No. 10 signs. Critically important.
That being said, I'm devastated that work travel is not allowing me to participate in such activities and lend my support to Bakes. I have to settle for watching on tv but will be with you all in spirit.

Good call, Milan. I'll go along with that.Milan Faletic wrote:It doesn't have to be that obvious or even negative. It's more as a vote of support for Bakes. A united chant within the club. Can't multi task Bernard? Time passing you by?Bernard Shakey wrote:How about we just support the team playing on Sunday?
However, I thought you could read. Only doing it at the start of the game if you read all the posts while the players run out on to the ground and warm up just to give Bakes some support. We look after our own and I know he is devastated right now.
Have you sent a message of support to Bakes on the sticky provided?

I dont think chanting "Baaaa-ker" will work well this Sunday. That's the kind of thing that works well when a player is actually on the field. However, it will be perfect for his first match back.
I love the handcuff idea of crossing the arms though. It's usually a sign that players display for someone who is behind bars. After the injustice that Baker has received this week it would be a perfect statement. Every time the ball goes near the fence the cameras wont be able to avoid people in the first few rows crossing their forearms. Great message to the AFL.
