Geary? One from left field ... Leigh Fisher.

Geary
Dempster
Gwilt (depends on match-ups)
Miles

Possibly Raph as long as you do not want close checking...

Peake would be an option once Gram returns

Eddy is a posiblity depending on match-ups.

Geary had a fantastic game on Friday and tore Shannon Byrnes a new one - looks like he is starting to find his feet

We'll need more than one against the likes of Carlton, whose small forwards cut us up last time

If we don't get smashed in the middle, then our zone defense will take care of the Carlton small forwards next time.

Both Fisher and Gilbert have successfully played on dangeous small forwards in big games before.
Remember, if a team has multple small forwards they have less talls in their forward line.

Simpkin has been mentioned in another post - young kid with a bit of dash and some mongrel.

Has looked ok in the VFL, and could be elevated for Jesse Smith.

We could at least give hime a crack now, before the business end really gets going, and see what he has got....

Dempster extremely fast, agility only question but he will do the job...

Looked lost playing as a forward last year, he will slot in nicely to his preferred position now as a negator.

I would think Geary will get first crack but one form left field will be Miles.

Miles was close last year and will possibly fill a role on small forwards. Geary can push up the ground more.

Dempster is more a utility who might get the Johnson, Didak type medium forwards rather than the quick smals ( Davis, Byrnes etc)

I think Peake could eventually play Baker's role on small forwards - once we get all our other quick running players such as Gram etc.. back... and i would expect Peake to do a good job.

Peake has the speed and agility of Baker .. but he's a bit taller.

Luke Miles could play as a small defender but not sure if he has much playing time with Sandi

Leigh Fisher  Woah that is left-field.

Don't mind it but won't happen.

Miles only possibility of guys who haven't played so far this year

Dempster. Good timing getting him back in the side, I'm excited to see him get some games under his belt. If not, eddy. His work ethic defensively is fantastic, and he will have a bit more zip.

Interesting thought about Leigh Fisher - it would be one of the stranger comeback stories if it were to eventuate. Remember Attard? He was promising before injury, probably would slot in right now...

But I think Dempster is the man for this.

Geary will most likely resume the role on the small forward, with Gram coming back in to carry on with his run out of the backline.
