http://sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/ ... hold-94037The Saints have ruled out an appeal against the bans and while Lyon agreed with Baker's own private summation of his actions as 'unprofessional', he didn't rule out rushing Baker straight back into the team with the 30-year-old to be eligible to return in time for the first week of the finals.

I think the club knows when it's banging its head up against a brick wall!
It's a shame about Bakes, he's been pretty bloody good lately! No doubt he'll be in terrific condition when this ridiculous ban is up! Head up Bakes!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

this is one of the more complete write up of what Ross said
http://www.sen.com.au/display-article/R ... hold/11374
Ross can be so ( or not so ) subtle

Ross can be so ( or not so ) subtle
and http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/s ... -zlvn.htmlHe then took a subtle dig at Malthouse, with tensions between the club still high after the round-three verbal spat involving Saints’ forward Stephen Milne.
"It’s a bygone era – what happens on the field stays on the field," Lyon said.
"I heard that thrown up back in round three. You know what - a white line around some grass and some sticks doesn’t really advocate community standards and behaviour."
"Certainly you push the rules and in this case you stand over them. At the end of the day you are responsible for your actions and that’s where we sit."
Lyon also brushed aside Tinney's strong criticism of Baker during the tribunal hearing.
"They're emotive terms, aren't they?," Lyon said
"Over the journey, he (Baker) is a credit to himself.
"The comments are irrelevant, I've heard I can't coach, we play ugly footy, guess what, we're second on the ladder and we're 10-3.
"You want respect from the people that you respect."

How good is that...
I love the dig at Round three...
and the "want respect from the people that you respect".
I like Ross....I reckon he would be a beauty to have round for a barbie and a coupla beers mid summer.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Some of our previous administrations and coaches would have fired up at some of the things we've faced this year. Some may have even "flipped right out"!
While that may have appeased some fans, ultimately it would have been to the detriment of our season.
Me too, I think he keeps it real, more than most..bigred wrote:I mean...saintbrat wrote:this is one of the more complete write up of what Ross said

Ross has had to come in and shore up the situation. At least the boys know Ross is behind them, and will back them up when their integrity is questioned.
Too bad we cant say the same about the gutless squibs in the Admin.
Not a word, nothing to get behind Bakes.
Thank god we have a coach like Ross.
Lance or James??
