Calm down everyone. Its no use blaming the club for Bakes bad record. There is nothing they can do about the loading, it was always going to bite him on the bum at some stage.

Steven Baker did not give evidence. Instead his advocate Tony Nolan SC argued his case

We're not blaming the club for Baker's bad record (although it may not have been as bad if we defended him properly on other occasions)

We are angry at the club for rolling over to the AFL etc when its quite obvious to everyone that his 'punch' was so soft it wouldn't have dented a rotten tomato!

at least 2 of his charges should be thrown out..

Still can't believe they didn't challenge the tummy tap one. That is what is most disturbing!

i cannot believe that every body is making this huge asumption that we will meet the cats at the GF............i do not think we will ..........may be a big may be in the prems......I think the cats have done thier dash for the season............we are more likely to face the filth......or the haze at the GF...
To be fair, Collingwood did lose Cloke on GF eve in 2001 then lost Rocca on GF eve the following year.

Only to see Barry Hall walk away free on GF eve only 2 years later.

he didnt get charged for the tummytap. it was the 3 "strikes" to the head and the misconduct to the hand.

Gotta agree. Farmer/Baker - woeful. King's 4 weeks - woeful. This - insipid.

Even seven weeks for those indiscretions is just plain silly.

And to be coldly frank - as much as I like having him in the side - our premiership chances don't depend on Baker, so it was a pretty good opportunity to throw in the kitchen sink to stick up for basic principles.

Pissweak.

Piss weak!

Post: # 949989Post WinnersOnly »

This is the chance for the club to stand up and support one of their own and they have been nothing but pathetic. They may have well pled guilty to the lot and roll over and take it like they have for the rest of the 100 year history. Just ask yourself would corrupt Eddy and Collingwood have taken this stance?

BAKES would have been better off king hitting Johnson and breaking his jaw.

PISS WEAK St KILDA Piss Weak. You get what you earn in life and the clubs this week had earnt nothing!

St Kilda's Steven Baker has been found guilty of misconduct. It means he is guilty on all charges. Nine week ban

The jury believed that Steven Baker knew Steve Johnson was an 'injured player' at the time of incident

hmmm finey was in the same year level and at the same school as our head legal eagle on the board ... I wonder who argued for Bakes at the tribunal?

I must admit our record of appealing to gain a positive result is horrible.

We had the best criminal defence barrister in Victoria acting for us in the last Baker incident in 2007 (Phil Priest).

Not sure who it was this time, but no doubt someone of equal standing.

We sure as hell ain't employing dud lawyers.

Yup. Would have been cited and suspended for one incident.

Or he should have got him on the ground and put him in a headlock for 1 minute and choked the air out of him.

Then he would have got off.

could only take process to court- but as he's pleaded guilty wouldn;t think so

BUT they have saved him 3 weeks somehow?

I wonder how many points still hanging now?
will continue to have 50% for rest of his career I would think

They better bloody take this further!!

How did he know he was injured? He had no trainers around him, or was it the fact he then went up and took a big overhead mark that was a giveaway... or maybe the fact he played out the rest of the game.

or maybe Baker is also a qualified doctor and saw the x-rays of the said broken hand..
