Is David Schwarz the biggest flog on TV?
Discuss...
Reckons on Gameday that Baker should be suspended for hitting Johnsons "broken hand". Well if it was broken then how was Baker to know and Johnson should have been off the ground. Schwarz is a complete f***wit

Another opportunity awaits!

i raised this in another thread yesterday.markinUSA wrote:I raised this in another thread... I don't remember such demands for suspension when Roo was hit after a broken collarbone.
unfortunately times have changed since then and political correctness now rules on the field and off.
demetriou is a real nanny state type ... a football socialist of the highest order.
if baker is harshly dealt with at the mrp, the club should fight it all the way.
I’ve stopped watching the Sunday morning footy show a long time ago (same with the Footy Show). Billy Brainless being a regular is enough indication of the general IQ of the show.Moccha wrote:Damian Barrett is making a late run for the title. Brownless is a one eyed pisshead that is so stupid that I don't take him seriously
On the other hand, I watched Before the Game and it was fantastic to see our coach relaxed, articulate and smiling. He’s come a long way from the stuttering, tong-tied rookie coach a few years ago. Most of all, he got a deserved pat on the back for a good win.

Because it was Brisbane bashing Rooey it was all cool with the AFL and he was publicly lambasted for being a crying little bitch.
Then G train gets suspended for jumper punching. Baker will get twice the suspension of Johnson because there is a perception of Baker being a rough nut. The AFL has a lottery system that can then be swayed by how hard the media jump on an issue. The AFL will instruct the MRP that Baker should go because they don't want that kind of image for the game. Can see it all playing out.
It's funny how many in the media were bashing Eddy Betts because he patted Davey on the back when his team mates were sniping him. Hypocritic dickheads. St Kilda is being bashed by the general footy community because people see us as too defensive. The media now know we are disliked and will jump on it. SEN is full of callers saying they want us to loose because of the way we play. On friday a caller rang up claiming he was a richmond fan and saying he can't wait for Geelong to win because it was "the good guys versus the bad guys" . WTF.

I would say that David Schwarz can be one of the bigger flogs on TV/Radio/Papers but they all seem to have special moments which brings them to the fore. Some commentators show too much bias to their old clubs they played for or support ie Drain Russell, Lloyd, Maher, BT, Both Lanes, Hird, Spud (sometimes he has way too much bias towards us), Billy, Crawf etc but they can also be insightful into football. Some Commentators/Journalists have issues with certain clubs and/or players which they then allow to cloud their professional judgements and vent it on TV or in articles.
It is 6 to 1 half dozen the other, they will always show some sort of favourtism/bias at the expense of others and look like fools/tools/wankers/spankers/flogs whatever people will call them.

My fears also. Mr Nanny State Demetriou will insist.gringo wrote:The AFL will instruct the MRP that Baker should go because they don't want that kind of image for the game. Can see it all playing out.
But the club should fight it all the way. Video footage of Riewoldt copping it from that pack of Brisbane dogs would be persuasive as far as precedent goes at a tribunal hearing.
Also will be interesting to see if Johnson gets off on the grounds of provocation.
That has never been a defence before and in fact there was a famous case of someone missing a grand final after the tribunal ruled that provocation was not a defence.
OX has no credibility. I remember on the Friday lunch show prior to the game on Friday night that he had the belief that Geelongs bottom 4 were MUCH better than our bottom 4. What was even more comical than that line was the fact that he couldn't name the bottom 4 from either team.....
Seriously, don't worry about the media. They can think and say what they want. We know how good this team is and we know that they THOROUGHLY SPANKED THE CATS on Friday night, regardless of what excuses all and sundry wish to throw up.

That was the comment that got me, oh well Ox, just watch Melbourne & Richmond games then you can get back on the punt in September and not worry about watching finals because we'll be there and will be having a big say in them for the next few years.clarky449 wrote:Also David said ' we are boring and he hates watching us, he isint convinced at us'. Also I was so annoyed a 5 weeks ago, when he said we wouldn't make the finals and Melbourne would. This was just before the west coast game and just after melbourne beat port adelaide in Darwin. People like him change there opinion weekly and can't see the big picture. I knew we were about to play West Coast, Adelaide and Richmond and that would put us right back in it. Now to say he isn't convinced when we have beaten Fremantle in Perth and now Geelong without Rooey, he is a flog of the highest order!clarky449 wrote:Also David said ' we are boring and he hates watching us, he isint convinced at us'. Winning football games isn't all about kicking huge scores, stopping a team from scoring a goal in a half will win you the game aswell...I don't care what everyone thinks, but I just want the bloody flag this year to shut everyone up once and for all!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Surely he didn't say that he thought we wouldn't make the finals but Melbourne will. That is a emmbaressing commentR. I was left amazed after he said he did not want to watch us for being boring.
Maybe he should study the following
Essendon vs Melbourne
2000 Grand Final
Essendon 4.8 (32) 10.16 (76) 16.17 (113) 19.21 (135)
Melbourne 3.3 (21) 5.5 (35) 8.8 (56) 11.9 (75)
Venue: Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne
Date: 2 September 2000
Attendance: 96,249
Umpires: Darren Goldspink (32), Brett Allen (10), Hayden Kennedy (7)
Goal scorers: Essendon 4: Paul Barnard, Matthew Lloyd. 3: Blake Caracella. 2: James Hird. 1: Gary Moorcroft, Mark Mercuri, Michael Long, Justin Blumfield, Darren Bewick, Steven Alessio
Melbourne 3: Jeff Farmer, Stephen Powell. 2: David Neitz, Russell Robertson. 1: Brad Green
Best: Essendon Hird, Blumfield, Barnes, Caracella, Misiti, Wallis
Melbourne White, Powell, Johnstone, Neitz, Walsh
Maybe a bit of Saints Footy defence would have helped.
And while we are at it I don't see his name on the score card or in the best named for Melbourne. So he better lay low when attacking our guys in a GF performance.
Have totally lost respect for him and now he can be considered by me as a FLOG

Forgive my ignorance on this....
But what exactly can Baker get weeks for?
Striking someone's hand? Are you serious?
Behind Play.
Intentional.
Minimal impact.
I can't see how, under the rules, he could go for any more than a full forward and a full back having a 'push and shove' whilst the ball is up the other end of the ground.
Dare I say it, but we have the footy public worried. They're scared.
