... imo it's far less serious that the smashing and bashing into riewoldt when he came off injured against brisbane.
also, if Johnson claims he was retaliating, would that be any sort of defence?

How did Johnson get his sore hand? Not by punching Baker in the head surely.
I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

I don't know about that. The Riewoldt one was five years ago.
A lot has changed since then and the Saints are now the bad boys of the competition in a lot of footy fans' eyes.
Wouldn't be surprised if they made an example of Baker for "unsporting behaviour" or some such garbage.
Would Johnson be able to claim retaliation as a defence?

Reminded me of that guy who kept trying to punch Fraser's injured hand 5 or 6 years ago.
No suspension then.

No suspension then.
But times have changed. There is a new political correctness in place now. Demetriou is a real nanny state type.

There's no weight attached to in/out of play any more. It probably just makes it easier to establish that it was intentional/reckless/negligent etc.

Jack Riewoldt did the same thing a few weeks ago (hitting someone's hand) - no issue then.

SJ will get two weeks. For mine it looked just as bad as Barry Hall's, only with an elbow. If, of course, it was that action that split Baker open.
Baker on hand insufficient force. Same for the chin tap. IMO.

We are talking about the same Steven Baker who got seven weeks for allowing Jeff Farmer to run into his back.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

I reckon Johnson will serve a two week suspension, Baker and Mooney will get one each.

Mooney has a pretty poor record, though, doesn't he?
Smacked Blake right in the face with a clenched fist (otherwise known as a punch).
Didn't look good.

I bet you he gets nothing for it
Another opportunity awaits!
