Where is the Karma at the moment. They lost a game of footy and are still flag favourites and have won 2 out of the last 3 flags.Milan Faletic wrote:So sad that you are sick, James.

Nice comment - couldn't agree more.
It's arrogant displays like that one that can fire up opposition teams - not that they should need any more motivation, but sometimes silly actions like that can be very, very costly.
Hopefully it can be played back to him after we win the Cup in September - see how sleepy that makes him.

Please...let's win a Premiership before GEELONG!!!! (O.k., so we've missed that opportunity...maybe let's win the next one before Geelong????)

When they beat Melbourne at the Cattery a few weeks ago, James Kelly was snoozing on his mates shoulder while thyey were in the circle singing the song. Apparently it was some very witty in-joke, but to the entire viewiing public who sadly werent in on the joke. it looked like Kelly was bored with another regulation Cats win.snoopygirl wrote:I've obviously missed something. So..last night..he's a last minute omission...ill..sleeping sickness perhaps?

The karma is that I, and many many Saints supporters had a great night and we are feeling great today and nothing that you say or do will take that away from me.plugger66 wrote:Where is the Karma at the moment. With so much crap in the world, it was a joy to see Milney kick the last goal
Enjoy the moment, plugger66.
Leave your pessimism at the door for just 24 hours. Can you do that? Is it possible that for 24 hours you can put a smile on your face and share some happiness. Give it a try, you might enjoy it.

Twice, Kelly acted as though he was sleeping when they sang the song. Clearly tired on winning. Sure it was a joke but in poor taste and smacked of arrogance, especially when you saw Richmond bellow the song, some for the first time.snoopygirl wrote:I've obviously missed something. The song is tradition for club people young and old and I think Kelly was disrespectful, even though it was a joke.''
Bakes mucks around but he always sings the song.
The humour stemmed from his boredom of singing the song all the time. That equals arrogance.SainterK wrote:It didn't come across well, but I think it stemmed from a poor attempt at humour, rather than being arrogant.
Can you imagine if Milne had done that during the song? He would have been blasted from here to Timbucktoo!

Fair enough it might have been a joke, but to do it a second time and not take on board any of the feedback about the perception, was definately arrogant.
"At the end of the day, a coach and a fitness adviser doesn't make a good football team, they're not the only ones who got us to two Grand Finals." Lenny Hayes. 27/9/2011.
I thought so as well, but watching him on BTG, he seems to be relishing his spot in the side....hasn't exactly been a consistent player up until recently.saint75 wrote:The humour stemmed from his boredom of singing the song all the time. Dunno, I guess hearing him talk, my perception wasn't reality.

Might have been a different result if Kelly and Chapman had played.ozrulestrace wrote:One of more satisfying thoughts after the victory last night was that 'tis a pity James Kelly wasn't playing because he wouldn't have another chance to look bored singing their club song.
And why?
Because they lost.

True, it was a joke.SainterK wrote:It didn't come across well, but I think it stemmed from a poor attempt at humour, rather than being arrogant.
But the joke is that, they sing the club song so often it's a little boring.
Sure it's the sort of thing that a supporter can say till the cows come home but in this day and age when a player can't blow his nose without it being analysed, it's a stupid joke for him to pull in front of the whole football world.
Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.

A lot of players bled for that song. If not arrogant, it was rude and insulting to every player who was worn a Geelong jumper and may never have played in Premiership. Poor form.SainterK wrote:It didn't come across well, but I think it stemmed from a poor attempt at humour, rather than being arrogant.
If that was a church and someone did that during the Lord's Prayer, would that be a poor attempt at humour?
