Dals committment
Dal should have put his body on the line to spoil that mark just seconds before the end of the quarter. He is a good hard player but that wasnt his best effort considering all the others last night.
Hope you are right but to me it looked like he didnt want the body contact.Anyway it is very unusual for Dal so next time he will go.Spinner wrote:Dal puts his head over it all the time.
In that instance he missed judged it.... Wasn't really an instance where the body was on the line anyways if ur referring go the ling one......

Don't really think this was a case of Dal "pulling out" - just thought he misjudged where he was in relation to Ling. It did look a bit ordinary though, but that happens sometimes.
I thought he more than made up for that in the 2nd quarter (I think) when he trooted back with the flight of the ball in the Geelong goalsquare and almost took the chest mark but got the freekick anyway. Selfless stuff that really can make a difference in a tight match, particularly against quality opposition.
I was very impressed with Dal's game actually - quality touches all over the ground despite intense pressure, cool head in a crisis, balanced and beautifully skilled.

Please...let's win a Premiership before GEELONG!!!! (O.k., so we've missed that opportunity...maybe let's win the next one before Geelong????)
I was down that end, Dal had his back to the play and was running over to cover Ling when it got kicked his direction, by the time he turned around he was wrong footed to make the contest and more than he did, whereas Ling was facing the kicker and could run directly to position to get it. The only thing I suggest is perhaps he shoudl have gone for the spoil instead of the mark.

Yeah, just looked like he was caught a bit off-guard by the trajectory - definitely not shirking the contest.
