should have heard the 4 behind me - "bloody umpires" "Chappy was out" "half their best team was out" "Selwood not getting frees he deserves""Taylor hurt" etc etc. Fair dinkum they were pathetic even started bagging their team. Hate to think what they would be like if they weren't supporting the "best" team to have ever played the game!saint1974 wrote:Geelong supporters sooking, for god sake you have won 2 flags bugger off and let us enjoy the win!

Not their conditions but admittedly Kosi and Stanley were rarely sighted.
But conversely this is a positive as without winning tall forward we beat geelong by 4 goals

Still makes me ill thinking about it.
The negative is that we are a better team than Geelong. And we have been since R1 2009.

Agreed. Unfortunately they just won the game that mattered.rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. GT couldn't have coached AFL post-2007 in my opinion.plugger66 wrote:GT isnt coach?rodgerfox wrote:There was one glaring negative.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
Results (1 grand Final win v ) Grand Final win) suggests otherwise.rodgerfox wrote: The negative is that we are a better team than Geelong. And we have been since R1 2009.
Biggest negative - Sitting between Eastern and Saint66au - they need one and a half seats each
Lance or James??

He is just trying to say that we were badly coached in the GF. He loves it.35...LEGEND wrote:rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. GT couldn't have coached AFL post-2007 in my opinion.plugger66 wrote:GT isnt coach?rodgerfox wrote:There was one glaring negative.

We did the same thing to Geelong last night that we did in the GF last year.....except for one minor little thing.35...LEGEND wrote:rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. Still makes me sick. Last night actually made me feel worse about the whole thing.
You are right. Would have been better if we lost.rodgerfox wrote:We did the same thing to Geelong last night that we did in the GF last year.....except for one minor little thing.35...LEGEND wrote:rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. You should be feeling good on the 26th September this Year about 6pm. And I reckon it will feel even better this year than it would've last year Rodge.rodgerfox wrote:We did the same thing to Geelong last night that we did in the GF last year.....except for one minor little thing.35...LEGEND wrote:rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. Logically it would be better for the St Kilda Football Club to lose just so I didn't feel more disappointed about last year's GF??plugger66 wrote:Well you said it made you feel worse winning so logically that would mean you would feel better if we lost. Dont question me, you said it.rodgerfox wrote:Why would it have better if we lost?plugger66 wrote:

I'm not sure I follow you.
You have a very, very strange sense of logic.
Why are you questioning my logic when you said it. Agree it was very similar to last years GF, only this time we took our chances when we had them. We also did better at stopping them from scoring.rodgerfox wrote:We did the same thing to Geelong last night that we did in the GF last year.....except for one minor little thing.35...LEGEND wrote:rodgerfox wrote:No, I'd say that's a very big positive. I think the cats had their air of invicibility back and many in the football world had them penciled in for another premiership and many had written us off completely 6 weeks ago after we lost a few games. But after the last 5 games and the last two in particular, people have been slowly been jumping back on the bandwagon. We are right in it again this year which only the true believers really thought after Nick went down and we lost a few.
We have sent a big message to the rest of the competition that we are the real deal again this year. I heard one of the commentators last night saying as much as the win doesn't make up for losing the GF last year, it does show that the players don't hold any mental scars from that loss due to the way they came out and played tonight. So a big positive from the night is they way they were able to come out in a similar game and get a different result. Great for our confidence and belief going forward.
