Lets focus on who ARE playing:

* Lynch: has missed games through injury and so needs every game he can get

*Dempster: Ditto. Needs to be run into form as is still definately in the mix to be in the 22 and moreso if say Raph stays injured, or we need another tagger

*Miles: Great to see him back. Is vey quick and so if a quick defender to cope with very quick smalls is required is a chance. Moreso if there was a hiccup with Baker.

So we have three under-done players all of who will benefit most from the extra game.

Walsh and others have played most games and so the week off should freshen them up.

I dont know if people have realised but we are having a break. The only ones playing are those who have missed a few games during the year.

The title of the thread is misleading. Should say Sandringham 2nds or Sandringham Reserves not (Reserve)

Jon Ralph on the 5th quarter reckons that Jesse Smith might not play again this year. His ankle has flared up again

I didn't cap- took it straight from VFL site- not sure why they capped it - pretty sure it'll be a typo.

and Yes -Tommy Lynch

Firstly NO RAIN and even some SUN- although the wind was bitter temp was 12 by end of game.

the wind was consistent through most of the game
Sandringham had it their goal way in 1st and 3rd, but didn't seem to recognise early enough that they needed to come at the goals from the left and not the right- it was slightly crossways and coming at the goals from the right meant they were not using the wind to advantage and it went point not goal,
a couple of badly missed shots- one from virtually on the goal post :?
the Fact that Sandy scored into the wind was surprising and as I stated earlier bucked the recent trend of them dropping off in the last quarters ala Port and Coburg.

Sandy had most of the play all day- stats would be interesting to see- the team played very well IMO- and just the finishing that lacked a little composure-
North were stacking their backline and had a couple of angry mini-me's- short explosive players who kept them in it across the centre.- they would have great runs out of defence to fail at half forward

Miles and Lynch both had time in forward line and backline- for me Lynchy got some valuable marking practice in the back line, seemsto need confidence
Miles for me was the better of the Saints players- with Winmar next- Blake is a constant in the ruck with Dempster and Lynch getting valuable game time.
Winmar despite only having played a couple of games was displaying leadership with his teammates which pleased me.

always good to have the team you are supporting winning :)

Round 10 - 2010
The Zebras reserves notched up their 4th win in 5 games against North Ballarat on Saturday; Late withdrawals from Jay Bruno and Daniel Sands didn’t have an impact, the Zebras never looked troubled as they ran out 39 point winners.
The win puts Sandringham into the top 4 and puts them three games clear of 7th spot, the team can now concentrate on staying in the top 4 to go deep into September.
Luke Miles was outstanding for Sandringham notching up touches at will
to finish with 41 possessions (19 contested) and 7 marks, Madison Andrews continued his good run of form with 27 touches in the midfield, Cam Hunter was again solid In defence with 23 touches, >>>>>>>>>>>>>Coach Jeremy Barnard was pleased with
the win “Very happy with the win and now looking forward to the breakâ€
