Guess the Crowd: Saints vs Cats
Hmmm, the biggie: will our fan/membership base turn up in droves as they would if we were playing at Etihad?
A home game at the G - maybe shown Live against the gate on Channel 7 perhaps???
Wet (or Cold) weather may be a factor for all those soft Saints fans who don't like going to the G.
To offset all this will be a swag of MCC members and plenty of neutrals that want to see the Top 2 sides of the comp square off!
Anyway, that being said, I'll go for:
72,500

Some people really don't like being out in the weather. It doesn't bother me too much, but my mum hates it (which was bad luck for her on GF day as we were right out in the open). She of course dealt with it for a GF, but if it rains next Friday night and we haven't got undercover seats she will stay home. She is in her 60's and its fair enough I reckon. If it rains we will go without her. We are SC members so will be getting tickets in the allocated bays on Saturday when they are released. The allocated bays are on the ground level so I will try to get seats at the back of that bay which are undercover.
BTW, crowd guess 75329

"At the end of the day, a coach and a fitness adviser doesn't make a good football team, they're not the only ones who got us to two Grand Finals." Lenny Hayes. 27/9/2011.
I'm not thrilled with my seats but that won't stop me being there.
And I don't care how cold or wet it is as far as being out in it is concerned. Its amazing what a poncho and an upside down rubber backed picnic rug can do. If the players can handle the weather, so can I.
What might stop us being there if we cant get away early enough from work is the fact that if it rains they close much of the car park.
My husband can't walk too far or very fast, and last time they closed the carpark we ended up paying somewhere around $40 to park at the Epworth, then missed the 1st quarter while my husband hobbled to the ground in the rain.
(and then we lost to collingwood. NOT a good day)

Shattered dreams are just opportunities for improvement. Live and learn, fail and try harder. 2011 beckons.

I remmeber that day - I seem to bad luck when I watch us play n the rain - the game against Essendon in 2006 where we won by three points, Collignwood in round 14 2007 and the GF last year.... all rained heavily - lost all three...SaintDebi wrote:I'm not thrilled with my seats but that won't stop me being there.

Shame it's a filth home game!Sainternist wrote:I'm predicting low 70's.
Wow, the encounter against the Filth next month looks to be a mouthwatering affair. At this stage, I reckon 80 + for that game.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

It's a pity our only game against Geelong is to be played in the middle of winter, there should always be two games in the season fixture for the previous grand finalist sides IMO.
The first match should be the season opener with the winner of the GF having the home game at the G and the second game played in the second half of the fixture.
It would be an extra bonus, in gate takings, for the previous winning team of last years GF and the crowd in that round 1 match would have been huge.
I would have little doubt that we would have smashed them if we played in round 1 this year, as Geelong were fairly ordinary at the start of the season.
I am tipping a crowd of around 65,500, which would be disappointing, but in the middle of winter and a night game, I really don't think there would be much more.
I hope I am wrong.

Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

I'll buy you a pint if you're right.
Can't see us topping 80K - we don't have the supporter base of The Filth, Carlscum or Essendon to get it that high IMO.
Me. Expletives deleted. I have a damn work function on Friday. Shattered. Totally forgot about the date. Have a pint for me if we get 80,000 SP, which I still think we will.
