My Moral Dilemma

Post: # 931338Post Con Gorozidis »

I have recently started seeing a girl who for some hard to fathom reason goes for the crows (she is not even from Adelaide). She knows I am Saints fan and has suggested we go to the game together.

I feel kinda dirty and awkward. Any advice?

Just go with her, I go with friends who don't support the Saints all the time...it can be quite fun...providing saints win of course!

Decide whether going to the game with her, whatever the eventuality (result either way, your possible behaviour, her possible behaviour) is likely to harm the relationship more than explaining to her you just cant do it.

Just don't try and take her into a reserved saints area....

Well my girlfriend goes for North, and I go to North games with her, however I never take her to Saints games with me. I have to go with another friend of mine, she's actually a Saints supporter and can get passionate with me. Luckily enough I avoided going to the North v Saints game with my girl, she chased me down the street when I gave a little fist pump on finding out the scores... If it's a big margin win, you won't get to enjoy it, that's my advice.

Are you planning on playing the 'sympathy shag' card?

My "Ex" missus was a Melbourne supporter, she even went out with a well known player before we met and they were together for ages. We eventually married and had a boy and hes a Collingwood supporter

Moral to the story is combining Melbourne with Stkilda gets you Collingwood, St kilda with Adelaide will get you a mental institution :D

Eek. That's a bad sign.

Seriously, my wife was a half committed blues supporter when we first started met. Now she's an insane St Kilda supporter. Actually, it was kinda conditional upon the whole marriage thing.

I'd start by buying her a scarf and go with the whole 'we should be your second team' angle. You can work on things from there.

Good luck!

In the light of today's news, I'd hesitate to associate with a girl who says she goes for any particular football team.

After all, she may be completely right.

I read that last line as I picked up the phone at work and burst out laughing.

Being a female myself, when dating opposition supporters there is no chance I'd be swapping teams. So I think you're stuck with her if she is a die-hard fan sorry.

Don't believe in mixed marriages.

Stick with your own.

It's all about the children, I've heard of families where it's fine when it's just two children, one for each team, but when the third arrives, it's war :x

No chance. the missus doesn't even care about football so she dsaid they can all support St Kilda. I'll sway her eventually.

I went to the footy with my Freo Husband for about 10 years till after the grand final last year when he announced he was going to become a St Kilda member. It can be done and you may even manage to convert her in time

My daughter has the same problem in reverse. She's the Sainter and BF goes for the crows. They'll be going to the game together too. Maybe you all need to exchange numbers and if things don't work out you can swap partners.

(Oh dear, that didn't come out right from her mother, did it? )

Don't do it.

Dating someone from another team leads to the dark side. It leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

You need to break up with her before it goes any further.

Beware the dark side!

I went out with a carlton supporter...she broke my heart and cheated on me at the end of 2001...interestingly they never beat us again since....until 2 weeks ago. Maybe she's learnt her lesson by now,or maybe after 9 years it's a sign I should move on
