Gram is a tragic loss. Peake has to come in.SainterK wrote:ST KILDA

There are 3 players who are missing from our starting 22. Obviously Riewoldt is as important as any player in the comp. Gram is about 10th to 12th best player, and King is close to our 22nd best player. Not sure our injuries could be used as an excuse even if we wanted to.Quixote wrote:Could add plenty of names to that list and to Ross Lyon's credit he has never used the significant injury list this year both to starting 22 players and depth as an excuse.
Because we're building to win the flag.
Most supporters from opposition clubs wouldn't even know who the other blokes on our list are who are injured.

Re: Injury report
According to injuryupdate.com.au - Lynch is a round 11 possibility.SainterK wrote:ST KILDA

The above is an estimate by afl.com.au (as denoted by the asterisk)
Pretty fair assessment, although I'd say Gram is closer to our 8th to 10th best player, behind Roo, Lenny, BJ, Joey, Dal, Chips and Gilbo. He's probably next with CJ, then Milney, Blake, Kosi, Bakes and Gardi. Just for the sake of the exercise, I'd say after that comes Ray, Schneider, Gwilt, and then a big drop to Armitage, Mini, Geary, Zac, Raph, Peake, King, Big Mac, Steven, Stanley, Lynch, Heyne, Gaertner and Walsh. Hopefully Jesse Smith will fit in about where Kosi and Bakes are.Moods wrote:There are 3 players who are missing from our starting 22. Obviously Riewoldt is as important as any player in the comp. riewoldt's only missed 5. another 8 weeks only would be an excellent result.

not our injury but Bernie Vince just rolled his ankle at training and looks to miss a week, which converts to two weeks as the one match ban handed out by the club for staying out late carries over and he'll play for west torrens the week they play us.
with any luck

If he’s unable to line up for Woodville-West Torrens this weekend because of injury, the club-imposed suspension will carry over to the next weekend potentially making him unavailable for the Crows clash with St Kilda in round 10.

Not sure exactly where one would rate Gram in tem's of best.
However in terms of importance related to how football is being played in 2010 and what oyhjer players we have on Gram's type (which is bugga all) I believe Gram has to be in our top half dozen.
His pace and run combined with his long kicking and that he can kick goals make him an importnat cog to us.
1/ Roo..and even more so!!
2/ Lenny. Dal may have better skills but the general has the heart, and soul of the team.
3/ BJ, Sam, Gilbert, Joey and Gram are then probably of equal importance
8/ Milne
If Gardi played his best football more often he would be up there, but that can be said for others too.

You would rate Gram on the same level as BJ? Not in my book. Yes we'll miss Grammy, but BJ with his versatility, strength, pin point accuracy over 50m and goal kicking ability is ranked behind Rooey and Lenny for mine. Equal with Joey and Dal.saintsRrising wrote:dcstkfc wrote:Moods wrote:There are 3 players who are missing from our starting 22. Obviously Riewoldt is as important as any player in the comp.
