Is J Smith ready?
Would love to think A. Smith would get a run, but he may currently be injured. I'm not sure. But he has good pace and a great kick from what I saw in the preseason.

J Smith probably not ready for full games but play him for 10-15 mins per quarter.

If he is doing this at Sandy and pulling up OK, we may as well let him do the same in the 1's and see how he goes

I was going to suggest promoting Walsh but from what I understand we can't promote a player from rookie list until round 11.

All reports from Sandy indicate he is doing all the things that Zac is not.

You think they might bring in Peake for Subi?

j smith, what a great idea...lets also bring in rooey, he has at least had a light jog around the oval.

steven for mini, yes I agree with that. Don't know if zac will be out just yet...

Peake might be an option but if his form is average at Sandy than we'd be taking a punt he'd step up on familiar territory.

No way will we send Jessie Smith to the wide open spaces of Subi with 2 games for Sandy as his match fitness for the last 2 years.

Peake was poor for Sandy from all reports.

Assuming no suspensions..

In: Steven, Eddy
Out: Gram, McQualter

Schneider lucky but theres seriously noone else at Sandy whos demanding a game

Agreed. Something has to give, the trend right now is not all that great.

I think it's safe to assume Zac is gone, for a little while

kaos theory - do we wait until round 15 when we are 7-8 to give this guy a go?

If he has the talent everybody talks about then i would have thought we are a better side with him in than out..

If the alternative is Raph Clarke who would you choose?

steven and eddy are worse than mcqualter and gram. by some way.

Its called match fitness, and smith has none. He hasn't played for two yrs, execpt for about 10mins a qtr in two reserve games. How anyone can be expected to play afl footy on that is beyond me.

If Clarke has to play he should play as a winger / half forward to maxmise run and creativity.

Just to clarify, we CAN promote a rookie now if we wanted too, as Miles is on the LTI. But obviously the club doesn't think any of them are currently up to scratch, hence why we have not yet promoted any.

There will be changes, no doubt, would be very surprised if Mini doesnt go for at least 1 and Gram is obviously not going to pull up, even if he seems ok they will rest him for at least 1 week IMO, must be OP related I would think?

Biggest change needs to be in beleif in ourselves and the game plan, many times yesterday I thought we hesitated when we had the ball and cost ourselves scoring opportunities, mini at chf a couple of times, schneider running through the middle on the overlap, opportunities to centre the ball off the half back flank and set up a thrust forward. Players are doubting their skills and doubting the plan, all obviously revolves around the lack of Roo to finish it off but if we dont get over that we wont improve. Even our best player yesterday in Hayes had a glaring example where running through the guts in the second he could have kicked to Kosi leading hard from the square 2 times before he finally did, when he did Kosi was only 15 metres in front of him? If it was Roo he just would have drilled it 40-50 and we would have had a mark or a contested ball 20 out from goal instead of 60.

Wouldnt be surprised if Walsh gets promoted during the week!

Maybe this year?

This is about right. Horses for courses..and whilst Clarke and Peake far from demand selection,we will need run and carry on Subiaco from somewhere, therefore these 2 are certainties.

Would also consider dumping BigMac and giving Stanley a go. Bigmac will lumber around the wide open spaces over there and contribute nothing.Stanley will be able to use his pace over there and at least provide a contest against NicNat...he might not be demanding selection either, but surely with his speed he will offer more than McEvoy?
