Thanks for that. I guess if Grammy is ready to go then the two that would be considered to make way would be Armo or Steven. Pre-season the talk was Steven was a bit ahead of Armo and if true, maybe that's why Lyon went that way. Steven played an OK game for his first senior match.Mr Magic wrote:He's been named as an emergency adn Gram has been named as an inclusion.saintkid wrote:Is it definite he is out??
I don't reckon anyone on here will really know until about an hour before the game.
I think it's just as likely that Gram won't play and Armo will.
I think your right, no change.Mr Magic wrote:He's been named as an emergency adn Gram has been named as an inclusion.saintkid wrote:Is it definite he is out??

Yeh I agree.
While Armo has been good, he hasnt been fantastic - And Gram when fit had to come in for someone.
I just hope Armo finds great form - signs for 3 years - and has a premiership medal having from his neck at the end of the year!

Well if the team is actually what has been named, we must be wexpecting to dominate the ruck contests, becasue we've replaced an inside mid with an outside mid.
If there was any thought of not comprehensively winning the ruck contests then I would have thought we'd require hard 'in and under' mids, which appears to be Aro's role in the team?
Who's going to give Lenny a breather in that role?
Steven?
Mini?
Schneider?
It's not the usual role that Dal, Joey or Gram play.

I think maybe Steven could play in and under, just rotate with Lenny?Mr Magic wrote:Well if the team is actually what has been named, we must be wexpecting to dominate the ruck contests, becasue we've replaced an inside mid with an outside mid.

Though pre-season we were saying that Ball's replacement would come from Armo or Steven..with Geary also pushing up.CeilidhSaint wrote:There goes all the Ball vs Armo stuff.

Steven and Geary are still in the team.
Gram had to come in. Though I am surprised it was Armo that went out.
However another factor at play may be not to play younger players every game.

With Blake AND King on the bench we look noticeably slow re our rotations. Usually clubs play a ruckman and 3 running types on the bench. Maybe this is why Armo has had to make way. Armo hasn't set the world on the fire but I would have thought he was doing enough to keep his spot. I know RL likes players who can spread from the contests, and I believe this is Armo's weakest facet of his game, and why Ball was on the outer when at the club.

Maybe they knew all along that Gram won't play, but named Armo as the one to miss as a warning to him. Seems to have done enough from where I'm sitting, but maybe there is something in his preparation etc they are not happy with. Hawthorn did the same with Lewis (named him as one of the ones dropped then played him - Buddy was never going to play).SainterK wrote:I'd love him to, but I am not confident he will either.Moccha wrote:I don't think Gram will play
Thought Armo did enough to keep his spot, he was crucial to last weeks win.
We are all guessing I suppose until the team sheets go in
