which many said was the most boring since Saints Vs Hawks.
Is the footballing public's opinion any clearer?
it has been intriguing to see which commentators or football fans say it was great Contest and which say it was boring,
recently retired footballers say it was great, a real contest.>> and even some support from-Surprising sources

could it be as simple as both teams are out of form and struggled to move it forward quickly and skillfully. So both sides could move numbers behind the ball. There were periods of last nights game where the dogs were flooding the melbourne forward line

Last night on radio (SEN) Rocket Eade finally said what Saints supporters already know. He was the one that turned it into a scrap. His reason was that last year during the home and away games they played their 'normal' game against St Kilda and lost the inside 50s by 10 each time and lost both games easily. So since then (the final last year and last week) he slowed the game down to retain possession, and as a consequence, won the inside 50s by 10 on both occasions. Unfortunately the Bulldogs lost both these games as well. It will be interesting to see what he tries next time.
The great thing about the Saints is that they are willing to play whatever style of game the opposition wants to play. If they want an open and free flowing game (Fremantle/North/Sydney) then we will play it. If the opposition wants a lock down game (Collingwood/Bulldogs/Port) we will play that as well. At the moment we are just a better TEAM than most other sides, although the competition appears to be closing the gap.

I have noticed that as well, the absoulte joy evrytime they win, more than last year even.
They showed after the filth game and against the dogs
As for Eade, I was a bit suprised by the media wanting to lay that all on the Saints, the Dogs were just as responsible as we were. It could also be called extreme pressure
I love this club

I watched the replay a couple of times (thats a bit of a worry? ) and took a great more heart from the game than I felt a week ago (aside from the initial euphoria of winning) To me, the manner in which the two teams dealt with that frantic final quarter spoke volumes about the "culture" and attitude of our respective clubs and their players. Now, hand-on-heart the old Jigging saint-a-roonie was feeling a little less positive about the outcome of the game, than the players did!
but when Giansiracusa blew that chance to score, their players dropped their heads and when the game was there to be won they lost their nerve!
I hate "ugly football" but have been on the wrong end of just too many "gallant losses" so as far as I'm concerned we take the win, and move on!

St Kilda forever ( God help me)
