I dont mind Monday night footy, means they will have the regular big friday night crowd plus an extra big pulling game on Monday, I like the round being spread out more as it gives me one more game of footy to watch, will become a big deal for both TV and ground attendances in the future IMO. Think the club should get on board and express our approval, become Monday night specialists.Eastern wrote:The PROPOGANDA Dept at the AFL has been given a "Gold Star" by Dimwit over the way they have handled this Monday Night Footy PROPOGANDA. In 2009 they give us Collingwood v St Kilda at Etihad Stadium. With a crowd of 48,000+ (until 1/2 Time ) they proclaimed it a massive success (this would attract 54-55,000 on a Friday Night). This year it's St Kilda v Carlton and a similar crowd would be expected. We all wait with baited breath for the offerings from the PROPOGANDA Dept next Tuesday morning. Don't expect any criticism from their "Lap Dogs" otherwise known as the Mainstream Media (AFL accredited journos) !!SaintDebi wrote:saintbrat wrote:reminder GAME STARTS 7.20 pm

Grrrr!
There goes 20 minutes travelling time. Could the AFL do anything else to make it less supporter friendly?
Great News - Max Hudghton lap of honour

Not trying to be a pain, but could someone who knows the timing of the pre-match routine please have a go at figuring out when Max might be running out onto the ground.avid wrote:So what time exactly (roughly) does that mean he'll be doing his lap?
We'll want to make sure we're there.
We've got a large Max-loving footy gang to coordinate!

Fantastic Max's contribution to the club is being recognised - but such a pity it is a Monday night game when crowds are likely to be down and it may be hard for people to get there on time if at all!!Calais wrote:St Kilda Football Club is proud to have the opportunity to thank and pay tribute to their recently retired star defender, Max Hudghton, prior to the Round 7 clash against Carlton on Monday 10 May at Etihad Stadium.

I think this is great news, I wasn't going to the game Monday night but now I'll definitely be there! On ya Max, true legend of this great football club
Wish he was pulling on a jumper to play instead of just doing a lap too!!
Loved watching Maxie play - awesome player, fantastic clubman!

Make sure you get to Etihad Stadium to see Max's lap of honour which is scheduled for approximately 6:50pm on Monday 10th May.
Agreed. maybe we should go back to 9 games on a Saturday in 2 years and get 50 million on TV rights. Then in 3 years we could go back to the VFL and 3 years after that we could all be bankrupt.Eastern wrote:The PROPOGANDA Dept at the AFL has been given a "Gold Star" by Dimwit over the way they have handled this Monday Night Footy PROPOGANDA. Thank you SainterK. But that argument goes down the drain when they play their monday night games at Etihad Stadium. St Kilda vs Carlton will get 45-50,000 people, no matter where/when it is played. As would St Kilda vs Collingwood (2009 Monday night match). Both matches would get the same crowds on a Saturday afternoon or Saturday night.rexy wrote:means they will have the regular big friday night crowd plus an extra big pulling game on Monday
