Great news.

Max was one of my favourite players over the last decade or so.

I loved his fiercely competitive attitude.....and that same attitude in BJ now.

F*$K, why could they not announce this earlier ? :(

I wasn't planning on going this week because of the monday night factor, so I didn't reserve my Social Club seats when thet went on sale on Saturday morning.

Now I read this and I really wana go because max was one of my favourite players, but yep, you guessed it, the Social Club seats are all sold out.

Pissed off.

Prob because his new employer acted like fwits and didn't agree to it sooner.

OR someone at the club was worried we would not get a decent crowd with this Monday rubbish and needed a promo?

Has swayed me to go to the game. I have no doubt in years to come when im much older i'll be mubling something along the lines of 'grgrrrrr max would've spoiled that one' or something similar. Ripper played, and even better person, made the saints a better club to follow for me.

Went with my little cousins to the footy last year - and by chance, ended up sitting virtually right next to match. One of my cousins counted Max as her favourite player, and was too shy to say anything to Max. I asked Max if he could pose for a photo with her and maybe sign her an autograph, but he went the whole nine yards. He took the time to make her feel welcome, asking her about her favourite players at the Saints, if we'd win that day, where she went to school etc. She was absolutely chuffed and would rave about this every time I saw her!

Point is, not only was he a terrific player, but a great bloke!

So what time exactly (roughly) does that mean he'll be doing his lap?
We'll want to make sure we're there.

I second that request. We can't leave til after work (5.30 - 6ish) so we should hit the bridge during rush hour.
Just hope we can be there in time to salute Maxy.

There goes 20 minutes travelling time. Could the AFL do anything else to make it less supporter friendly?

The PROPOGANDA Dept at the AFL has been given a "Gold Star" by Dimwit over the way they have handled this Monday Night Footy PROPOGANDA. In 2009 they give us Collingwood v St Kilda at Etihad Stadium. With a crowd of 48,000+ (until 1/2 Time  ) they proclaimed it a massive success (this would attract 54-55,000 on a Friday Night). This year it's St Kilda v Carlton and a similar crowd would be expected. We all wait with baited breath for the offerings from the PROPOGANDA Dept next Tuesday morning. Don't expect any criticism from their "Lap Dogs" otherwise known as the Mainstream Media (AFL accredited journos) !!

very pleased to hear about this. he was one of the club's favourite sons for over a decade. i supported the decision to leave him out of the finals last season but it didn't give me any pleasure. a very tough call that must have hurt max.
