I'm more concerned about the Swans.

They are certainly getting a lot of positive press at the moment.

However, let's analyse what they have achieved so far:

. They've beaten Richmond, West Coast and Brisbane at the SCG
. They've beaten Adelaide and North Melbourne away
. They lost to us on a diabolical surface at ANZ Stadium.

Of these performances, you'd really only rate the win over the Lions particularly highly, and that was at the SCG which is surely the best possible venue at which to line up against an opponent which builds its game plan around a possession-winning midfield delivering to 2 giant forwards in Brown and Fevola. And, with all that going for them, the game was pretty even and the Swans won mainly because they made more of their opportunities.

In the next three games the Swans face Geelong at Skilled Stadium, the Dogs at Manuka and Freo at the SCG. Let's see how they are travelling then.

They get this sort of draw every year. But they won't win a flag if they can't perform in finals. Ball and Jolly will help them, but not enough IMO.

They can try align the stars as much as they want for Collingwood, won't make a difference. They will get the wobbles at some stage......

Lets put this into perspective about the filth as well...

They beat Footscray (I still call them that), when they had a premiership hangover.
They beat Melbourne (just).
They lost to us.
They beat Hawthorn. So have four other teams.
They beat Essendon. So have three other teams.
They beat Carlton. So have two other teams.

Of those wins, only one of those teams is in the 8, the others are all performing average to poorly. If they want to get excited about being #2 on the ladder come the conclusion of round 6 - let them.

Sydney are playing good footy, and it's unlike them to be 'peaking' early in the season, so I'd expect them to drop off.
