6 days again to rediscover Saints Footy
Second 6 day break in a row.
Our strength in the first 4 weeks has been our ability to over-run sides in the final quarter.
With the 6 day break after Freo, and now another 6 day break compounded by the interstate travel, how will we run out the game next week against the Dogs if it is tight at 3/4 time?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

No doubt we are up against it .
If we get over the line next week it will be a bloody good win.

They are professionals they will be fine.
Back to The Home Sweet Dome.
Let me remind you all that we play Saints Footy Best at the Dome.
The reason we lost last night was because aami stadium doesnt suit Saints Footy, too much space. Our Structure fell apart.
I reckon we will train hard, recover and beat the dogs next friday by 19 points.

Maybe a better key forward who is young and hungry might make the difference......if you know what I mean.35...LEGEND wrote:Enrico_Misso wrote:Second 6 day break in a row.

I just thought we played poorly personally and Port should have won by more. That is the second game in a row in the wet where we have panicked towards the end and bombed it to nothingness. We show composure with ball in hang most of the time but it seems to go out the window completely when we are behind in a close one. I know one does not have a long amount of time to score a goal or two however clever, composed football has got us this far. 5 more minutes in a few tight contests would not go astray.plugger66 wrote:So what was our excuse this week?35...LEGEND wrote:plugger66 wrote:Hate the idea of 6 day breaks. When did Port last play?
It's the two in succession that's gonna test us and the travel in between.

So clearly the excuse needs to be contextualized at a finer temporal scale. Here's my take, with evidence to support it.LennyBoy wrote:They also had a six day break after getting smashed at the Cattery last Sunday Afternoon.plugger66 wrote:Hate the idea of 6 day breaks. When did Port last play?
Their break was almost 2 hours and 30 minutes longer than ours. And they dominated the last 2 hours and 30 minutes of the game, scoring approximately twice as many points as us. Put two and two together people.

Good post. We need to bring the ball in to the forward 50 without bombing it. In a game where we only kicked 6 goals, a couple of quality entries would have won the game. Similar to a famous game last year.Saintsfan wrote:I just thought we played poorly personally and Port should have won by more. Geel lost to Freo, Bris lost to Melb, Freo lost to us. Teams lose.
Let's just hope we learn. Let's hope it was an off day. Win 4 lose 1 and we will finish 16 and 6 at worst or 18 and 4 at best.
