Armo busting his guts...
Was rapt with Armos last quarter. Shows that his tank has definitely been boosted and that he has the will to push on through a whole game. His attack on the ball wasa savage and did so great things in close when the game was up for grabs. Great stuff Armo keep up the good work !

Looked sensational on the night and just as good, if not better, on replay. The darkness wrote:Was rapt with Armos last quarter. There's a long way to go but you've gotta love the way Armo's progressing.
As I've said before I don't reckon we got nothing for Ball - we got David Armitage
Some great in and under work no doubt, probably the most consistent effort we've seen.
Tackling ! Have people picked the Queensland rugby shoulder charge? Gilbo tends to do the flying tackle but Armo really drives through the shoulder.
The more games the better - just a matter of finding his feet at the top level. Disposal at times questionble -should have taken a shot from directly in front against the Filth and against Freo kicked all of 5 metres to Peake at one stage on the wing.

I highlighted on another thread...
The stats I looked at showed him having 17 contested possessions, which is a PB for him in his career (and only 1 behind Lenny)
Great game, and like some others, he will continue to blossom given a consistent run at the seniors and getting some games under his belt.
Thought it was telling that he improved as the game went on, given he has been criticised for fading out in the past.

In 12 months or maybe sooner, he will be rated as an elite midfielder, just like CJ is now.SainterK wrote:I highlighted on another thread...

I think we all forget that the guy has only played 20-odd games of AFL footy.
Yes he's been in the system for a few years, but as we've seen with Montagna, Gilbert, Goddard, Jones et. al., it takes 40-50 games before you really start to hit your straps as an AFL player.
Armo is only going to get better and better this year and next year, his consistency and impact on games will continue to improve.

Interesting that Ball dropped his intensity in the pies game and Armo ramped up his game. You get the feeling that Ball has been giving his all for the first few weeks and now cant sustain it at the same level every week. We are starting to see why Ball was a fringe player for us and he saw the writing on the wall.
We have a back up 4 or 5 players that would be walk up starts at lower clubs. Nice to see real depth at the Saints for like the first time I can remember. we were always vulnerable to injuries in the past.
