Where will we finish?
I had us a shoe in for the GF this year. Who wants to guess where we will finish now. Im cautiously optimistic still, but it could be a blind optimism. If we had lost the Collingwood game would I still feel any optimism? I hope the Roo injury steels us not softens us.
What's the current feeling out there for where we will finish?

we need to aim for top 2 (in case a top 4 team is a interstater). Win 15 to 17 would do this
therefore a minimum of 12 out of 19. No reason why we could not do this. This week will speak alot on how we shall tackle this...
my guess, top 2

I still do
May lose 2 maybe 3 along the way.
Finish TOP or 2nd.
And win the big one.

I was thinking top 3 but then had to consider which 2 teams might finish above us. It's not at all certain that anyone will.
Another thought that came to me this morning was that Geelong last year, and Hawthorn the year before, won a premiership without Roo. If they can do it, I don't see any reason why we can't.

meh...
with everyone fit and firing at the pointy end, I'd back this team to make the granny from anywhere in the top 8.
Don't let this Roo business fool you.
We are still a very, very good TEAM.
At our best, we are the best.
Just think of all the new Plan B's we'll develop over the next 3 months when it comes to kicking goals.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
I would suggest if we are in the bottom part of the 8 at the end of the season our form wouldnt be good enough to make the GF. I am pretty sure we are good enough to win 13 more games to make the top 4 and then we can win the GF.Milton66 wrote:meh...

TOP
There is only one finish.
That is position after the grand final.
Last year proved that.
Riewoldt will be back and the saints will win the grand final.

Top 4.
As long as Brisbane don't finish in the top 3, it doesn't matter, because we'll have a home final...
While Rooey is out, and provided no one else in our top 10 are out I still believe we can beat everyone.
That said we need to still be able to kick a few goals.
Our defence might be the best but if we can't apply some scoreboard pressure, and some offensive pressure we might be in trouble...I don't think it will be a problem though.

they also won those premierships without peter hudson, ian stewart, roy cazaly and george best. what's your point, exactly?Superboot wrote:Another thought that came to me this morning was that Geelong last year, and Hawthorn the year before, won a premiership without Roo. what neither of them did was win a premiership without their best player. not sure when a club last did that.
if he doesn't get back by the finals we'll be in trouble. but i have faith that we'll finish solidly top four without him.

Geelong were without Ottens for a major part of last year and although not their best player he is definitely a Key Player and super important to their teambergholt wrote:they also won those premierships without peter hudson, ian stewart, roy cazaly and george best. what's your point, exactly?Superboot wrote:Another thought that came to me this morning was that Geelong last year, and Hawthorn the year before, won a premiership without Roo.
