He must have been thinking of you when he wrote mine...Duane is not typically spelt Duyane.Batnoe wrote:Saint Bev wrote: Baaaaaaah, I didn't get one from anyone. This is the worst day of my life, no one loves me
Mr Magic I would fly down at the drop of a hat to catch up with Lenny, what date was that
I can you forward you my message but it says Dayne and not Bev
Sorry
Their contrived nature makes them so insincere it’s almost insulting our intelligence.
All you need is the URL: http://computerjazz.net.au/s/10.php?name= MEMBER’S NAME to have a bit of fun with them.
For example: http://computerjazz.net.au/s/10.php?nam ... 0Malthouse
So if you really want to convince your friends that they’re personalised, add your nickname to the above URL.

I guess it's how you look at it MLS, I personally thought it was a bit of fun.MLS wrote:Their contrived nature makes them so insincere it’s almost insulting our intelligence.

They bothered to pose for the initiative, better than no thanks at all.
I liked it, it made me smile

I don't think the intention was to test our intelligence.MLS wrote:Their contrived nature makes them so insincere it’s almost insulting our intelligence.
They were a goodwill gesture and with 37,500+ members, a nice touch that wasn't necessary but was thoughtful.
Send me yours. I'll happily accept it.

Grant Thomas also received a message from Lenny apparently....barks4eva wrote:Lenny Hayes
Great choice, he's also my favourite player!
I'm quite sure they only send the Lenny Hayes pic and message to the most intelligent, perspicuous and perspicacious members, so no surprises there!
I thank the club for acknowledging this!

DO THE MATHS AND THE SQUARES ARE ALL ROOTED.
I don't need to send you mine. Just use the URL I posted in my previous message and you can create as many as you like with whatever names you like.Milan Faletic wrote:I don't think the intention was to test our intelligence.MLS wrote:Their contrived nature makes them so insincere it’s almost insulting our intelligence.

Of course they didn't intend to insult our intelligence. For them to believe that we would be insulted, they would have required an understanding that we would identify these photos as disingenuous attempts at personalised messages of appreciation.
It is the fact that they didn't think anyone would be insulted or recognise this that annoys me. It subconsciously assumes that we are dupes.
And don't get me wrong. I'm not just annoyed by these photos. This is just part of a continuing pattern of dishonestly. For example, our membership letters are often signed by Ross Lyon or a player. Do you seriously think Ross wrote a letter about payment methods and membership packages?
Just be honest with us.
And the only 'thanks' I need for becoming a member is efficient customer service with my membership package (which seems rare) and a competitive team on the field that gives 100% week in, week out (which has been delivered in recent years).
That's what we, the members, truly deserve. And it's all we ever ask for.

I didn't say "insult". I said "test". You said "insult".MLS wrote:Of course they didn't intend to insult our intelligence.
So in one breath their "contrived nature" is so insincere it almost insults our intelligence and in another breath you don't think it was their intention. Which one is your argument?

That's all YOU ever ask for, in your humble opinion...don't forget the young kids who may get a thrill from a digitised placard. Not all members are adults.MLS wrote:That's what we, the members, truly deserve. And it's all we ever ask for.
Agree with that.na exa wrote:and a good 'seat' at the granny.
Really? Me too.MLS wrote:I'd much rather have my name on a grand final seat than a digitised placard!
Got all that last year.
So we agree, except I had no problem with the service from the club.
