Let Ball and Swan run havoc, they can get as many possies as they want, most of them will end up with a saints player anyway...
If we are going to be tagging anyone it needs to be CJ on Didak and McQualter on Heath...

Yeah he's not a bad player Davis but IMO he is 3rd in line and our 3rd best tagger (Baker) doesn't have the pace to keep up with him anymore.degruch wrote:Don't forget Davis...I'm sick of seeing that guy kick 4 against us. Luckily, he was missing for at least one of our games against the Pies last year.
I'd rather see Gilbert played off him...
If Davis gets 20 touches and 2 or 3 goals, and Gilbert gets 28 touches and 10 marks, I would say that would be a significant win for us...

With all due respect to Luke, he wouldn't warrant a tag. He is an in
and under player and not a lot more. We have more than enough that
can compete with him in that dept.
Outside of that dept most any of our players will compete with him and
win.
CJ will be better used elsewhere. It's pretty obvious.

i reckon gilbert's best role is loose in defence and you tend to lose a bit if he's assigned a stopping task.Armoooo wrote:I'd rather see Gilbert played off him...

Tend to agree. I'm not sure Gilbert hasn't played off Davis before, with typical disasterous results. We can't cover 'em all, as pointed out, but they can't cover all of us either.bigcarl wrote:i reckon gilbert's best role is loose in defence and you tend to lose a bit if he;s assigned a stopping task.Armoooo wrote:I'd rather see Gilbert played off him...

Well spotted K. At least, he seems THERE this year, don't think he played against us last year? He can sting us too. Fisher would certainly have been very handy for this game, although I imagine Bakes could be up to Medhurst?SainterK wrote:Medhurst may have had a quiet week against Melbourne, but the week before he caused Doggies headaches. He seems fitter and more switched on this year.
That's the dangerous thing with Collingwoods sneaky forward line, you get on top of one and another can pop up.

The way to play Luke is to exploit him.
ie in the NAB Cup I think Schneider was basically playing on Ball at the start..but played wide....as putting it simply when Schneider gets the ball he uses it quite well vs Ball who uses it "Ball-like"!!!
Result was 2 goals in the first quarter to Schneider and few other set -ups to bugga all..

Seeing his never done it, I can only assume you have a lot of bad dreams.degruch wrote:Don't forget Davis...I'm sick of seeing that guy kick 4 against us. Luckily, he was missing for at least one of our games against the Pies last year.
He kicked 3 against us seven years ago and has only kicked 12 in 12 games.

Now, if you're goping to be smart and pull me up over accidental mild exaggerations (6 points worth of exaggeration), you better go and check your facts too. Seven years ago, was it? Also, Collingwood may have played 12 games against us in recent times, was Davis in all of these teams?kosifantutti23 wrote:Seeing his never done it, I can only assume you have a lot of bad dreams.degruch wrote:Don't forget Davis...I'm sick of seeing that guy kick 4 against us. It was so long ago, kids don't read this, look away now, Matthew Capuano was playing and we lost at the dome on a Saturday night.degruch wrote:Now, if you're goping to be smart and pull me up over accidental mild exaggerations (6 points worth of exaggeration), you better go and check your facts too. No, much more recent than that...since I've been on this forum, as I remember the painful wailing on here.kosifantutti23 wrote:It was so long ago, kids don't read this, look away now, Matthew Capuano was playing and we lost at the dome on a Saturday night.degruch wrote:Now, if you're goping to be smart and pull me up over accidental mild exaggerations (6 points worth of exaggeration), you better go and check your facts too. Hmmm...no, I'm referring to the indigenous one...maybe I'm having, as a comedian at the Melbourne Comedy Festival put it last night, a 'chicken situation'?kosifantutti23 wrote:Are you thinking of Craig Davis, they look alike.
Chris Tarrant was the last Collingwood player to kick 4 against us but we still won by 47 points because Gehrig, Kosi, Milne and Guerra all kicked 4 plus.

If Steven King comes back into the side he could tag Luke Ball.
King would beat Ball in marking contests, out run Ball when Collingwood is in possession, break clear of Ball when St Kilda is in possession and kick the ball further than Ball.
On top of that King could take the ruck contests as well.

There was a game a couple of years ago when Davis and Harry O combined to kick a few goals.degruch wrote:Hmmm...no, I'm referring to the indigenous one...maybe I'm having, as a comedian at the Melbourne Comedy Festival put it last night, a 'chicken situation'?kosifantutti23 wrote:Are you thinking of Craig Davis, they look alike.
