Highlights of Roo's interview on One Week at a Time

Post: # 900609Post Milan Faletic »

They had an isolated camera on him. He does an amazing amount of running pre game. Mentioned that he needs to do it, particularly with night games to avoid lethargy.

Said he is up in the top 10 in time trials at the club, not the fastest but up there with some of the midfielders.

They showed him just running opponents in to the ground, Harvey style.

Said he has matured in to the captain's role and although he captained in 2005, he feels more comfortable now.

Strongly defended Kosi in response to what was quite a diplomatic and well worded question by Quartermaine about the criticism of Kosi and whether it was justified. Said his contribution is underrated.

Confessed that he did slightly milk the push in the back against Sydney but not the one on Sat night.

They joked about the fact that Milney is the one on the AFL rules DVD staging and they showed that nothing has changed this year because he did it on Sat night. Kane Cornes also hadn't changed his ways from last year. It was a funny moment.

Asked about how players from other club have fit in so well and said that a lot of credit has to be given to the coaching staff and the structure in place, but said like Hall, players given another chance know they have to perform.

Asked if he thought Gary Ablett was worth $1.5 mill at GC and he said yes, if the club can afford it, a player like Ablett is worth it

Nick was great. He is a real franchise player.

Struth.
Milan - you just scared me
When I first read the topic I thought you meant Roo was injured.

Thought you meant he was a "week to week" proposition.
My worst nightmare!

Also said that Tommy Walsh was a great athlete and was to good not to make it to the top level, just a matter of time and learning the game.

Pitty they did not show the L.Ball NAB cup incident and go on with it for this week coming, all the pressure is on Luke so why not add to it

Yes, sorry. Forgot the Tommy Walsh comment, Saint Mik.

They were commenting on Setanta and Roo said Tommy is a good athlete and progressing well.

It was definately on during "One week at a time"
I would say at least twice, maybe more.
I was in the process of putting my two year old to bed before Nick came on and he was saying the names he could recognise...Riewoldt, BJ, Lenny as they came on the ad. I tried to get him to say Joey and Dal and he did. Another Saints teaching exercise....
He shouted "Go Saints" in a quite feral way in Sydney last week so my brain washing is obviously working. Can now also sing the club song in full. Is nearly ready to attend games every week. :D

"At the end of the day, a coach and a fitness adviser doesn't make a good football team, they're not the only ones who got us to two Grand Finals." Lenny Hayes. 27/9/2011.

I am obviously completely immune to all forms of advertising.

During the Hawks-Geelong game it was shown over here in Perth at least twice. A bit surprising because I don't recall ever seeing an ad for teams other than the Eagles or Dockers.

Saw the ad during the telecast between Geelong and Hawthorn. Shown at least twice.

Another opportunity awaits!

Loved that iso-vision.

Also noticed that he shook hands with umpire Hayden Kennedy in his pre-game warm-up and they later showed Kennedy giving Roo a free-kick for that push against Lachlan Hansen. :D

Was on at least twice during the program. Good work by our marketing department.

It's been on heaps during other programming.
