This is the start guys!! This is the start!!

[quote]The moment: While it is tempting to nominate the 30-minute stretch at the start of the game that netted St Kilda eight goals and North not a single point, the real moment was somewhat innocuous and happened late in the game. Nick Riewoldt was monstering his opponents, and after hanging on to a couple of ripping marks, he pushed up the ground and took a chest mark. Saints fans chanted in unison: “Roooooo!â€

Definitely noticed it on Saturday.

I go to the home games every week and hadn't noticed it until last week.

I had noticed occasionally everyone yelling "Nickey!" in unison when he was going for a mark, but I don't think that was planned.

Can't we come up with something more original than a call that rhymes with boo.

Talk about the lowest common denominator.

Ok, here comes my first personal attack.

Do you have any original suggestions or just criticism, Beer-nerd?

You are truly a moron, a pessimist and an arrogant pig, Bernard.

You just want to argue for the sake of it, you are the unhappiest person on this forum. I feel sorry for you.

You have no alternative suggestion, just criticism. No original thought just a depressing condescending attitude.

We are trying to drown out the "boo" from the opposition.

What do you think of "St Kilda...clap, clap, clap"?

Not very original but it works. Wanna knock the cheersquad.

What about our club song?

4 lines repeated twice and 3 of the four lines are the same line. Not very original. Wanna knock that?

Do you think the kids who barrack for St Kilda want to recite poetry? There is a split second when Roo takes a mark or possession. It is simple and it works and it drowns out the opposition supporters.

You have really p*ssed me off this time with your ignorance, and arrogance but more importantly, your lack of any original thought.

I had a wonderful Easter, and a glorious Saturday night with so many happy Saints supporters and then there's you...the Grim Reaper of the forum.

For what it's worth, I have never really liked the Cooney, Mooney chants that sound like booing either.

I can't think of anything better, other than to agree with the suggestion the other day to make it sound more like Rooey.

This was not your first personal attack.

You obviously dislike me intensely, which I find surprising, as we have never met and are hardly likely to.

You say I am negative, but I think I am positive.
I positively hate chants or calls that sound like boo, always have and always will.

Why should we copy every other team in the comp? We are the mighty Saints.

You want originality. There is nothing original in a Rooeey or whatever chant. Other cheersquads have been doing it since Carlton started going Woof every time Val Perovic kicked the ball.

I'm sorry if you are offended, but my thoughts are just as relevant as yours.

Whats entertaining is that its been happening for years.

Even more entertaining is the suggestion for 25,000 people scattered around a 400m radius to scream out a two syllable word in unison.

 :D 8-)

For the first two years of ross' era I'm pretty sure 20-25K managed "Man up" and "Kick it" without too much trouble.

Yes, on the forum it is.

You obviously dislike me intensely, which I find surprising, as we have never met and are hardly likely to.

Another assumption.

You say I am negative, but I think I am positive.

I don't agree.

I positively hate chants or calls that sound like boo, always have and always will.

So do I, so to drown out the "boo" we shout "roo"

Why should we copy every other team in the comp? We are the mighty Saints.

So make a suggestion. If you don't like it don't do it.

You want originality.

Yes...from you.

There is nothing original in a Rooeey or whatever chant. Other cheersquads have been doing it since Carlton started going Woof every time Val Perovic kicked the ball.

Woof is not Roo. One of my points is that simple can work. My other point is that you have no alternative, just criticism.

I'm sorry if you are offended, but my thoughts are just as relevant as yours.

Your thoughts are negative but I never said they were not relevant.

I'm just sick of reactive posters as opposed to proactive posters.

You have obviously forgotten your missive of 26 March 2010.

You do not like me, which does not particularly worry me.

That's what I thought too... :?

Though not as loudly as "Cooooon" or "Mooooon" or "Krueeeeez"... thankfully.

I still dont see what's wrong with cheering like we always have, or singing and clapping when the team comes out onto the ground.

Good work omitting most of my post even though I printed your quote and responded point by point. So all of my other responses to you have no opposition from you. Interesting.

Regarding that "missive" on the 26th March, I challenge any poster to check that thread. You attacked me, made judgements and assumptions, and I eloquently responded without abusing you or insulting you. No more diplomacy for you.

Yes, you are the only poster I have a problem with. I'm ok with all of the other protagonists including plugger66, rodgerfox, grumpyone, barks and the others.

5 threads in 2010. 5 times you have put your opinion on the line for the forum to scrutinise, review and criticise. 2 of your threads were information which is fine but not analysis or opinion of the club. One was about the website clock being incorrect....shock, horror. Another thread had 1, yes 1 response. The 5th one was an opinion. At least I (and the other protagonists) have an opinion, a drive and the guts to say what they think and be open to scrutiny. I am constructive and positive or at least I try to be interesting on the forum. Other than you, I have not personally insulted anyone on the forum. I have criticised other people's opinion which is fair and within the rules of the forum.

So yes, it is just you, but you are not worried so it's ok with me.

Just feel lucky that I don't send you the PMs I have received about you from other posters.

Nothing.....there's nothing wrong with that. I will do that....and more.

There is more booing than cooing. Opposition supporters hate Roo, they call him a sook and a stager so they boo him.

I don't drink at the footy. Some people do. That's fine. Some people wear a scarf, some don't. That's fine. Some people face paint, some don't. That's fine. No-one is holding a gun to your head. Make a choice and enjoy the game, but if people want to do it...c'est la vie!
