New Tassie Team
Great to hear the news that Tassie is finally to get its own AFL team in 2016.
For those who missed the announcement (no link yet), the Simmons Plains Race Track is to be redeveloped in a joint venture between the Tassie Govt and the AFL for a 60,000 seat stadium.
Jumpers will be predominately light blue with a horizontal dark blue stripe down the middle.
Not sure about the name though..... somehow the Bass Straits seems a bit wierd for a footy team.... but after all, it is very Tassie.

Funniest thing about the news was Kennett's reaction.
Talk about furious. Reckons it will cost the Hawks 15,000 Members.
And the likeliehood that the Tassie side are chasing Buddie and that the Hawks , Ablett like will only be compensated for only pick 26-ish just completed the interview for me.

Yes.... more inspiring.... but the announcement didn't mention that a Tasmanian map would be included at all.markp wrote:You'd prefer it over the breast?GrumpyOne wrote:Now that would be just ridiculous Mark.markp wrote:With a map of Tassie on the front of the shorts.GrumpyOne wrote:Jumpers will be predominately light blue with a horizontal dark blue stripe down the middle.
Reading between the lines, it would seem that both North and South Tassie Leagues have been leap-frogged in this decision: Hence the name Bass Straits. I believe that the previously used names for Tassie Teams, (Tassie Tigers and Tassie Mariners), are copyrighted to those leagues.
