Indeed.

Gardi was probably line ball.

Looking at form and fitness, the 22 picked is pretty much what was expected IMO.

Very glad to see Gwilt there, but I'd certainly prefer to see him across half back and BJ across half forward. Jimmy has has his chances to show something up forward and does better down back.
Bring it on!
Agreed. Seems a little strange that Jimmy was named as forward considering he played (and stood out) on the half back line throughout the preseason.

But then again, theres never much significance in the positions they release.
I think they just radomly put the names on sometimes

Why do you say that? He's in the team isn't he? If he hadn't recovered he wouldn't have been selected.
Not normally on the bench

common sense to put a guy at his age coming back from injury on the bench so you can change him if he doesn't come up

Eddy played well in at least one of the Sandy games. Raph didn't touch the field after the intrasquad.

You can change anyone out of the 22. They don't need to be on the bench. I wouldn't read anything into it.

a good, solid side. really a chance for a few of the fringe selections such as peake to prove they deserve their spots.

agreed

only differences I could make re: injuries is

gards in for king
chips in for either peake or geary (gram into midfield rotation)

raph to put pressure on jimmy

almost a full side

White, Bradshaw, Goodes and O'Keefe represent a pretty solid forward line....I'm worried about our match ups, particularly White. From memory, he chopped us up a little last year.

Our mids need to have blinders to stop the ball getting down there, otherwise I fear we'll be exposed, partcularly with Sam out.

I know the media never do this for Round 1, but can someone do an INS and OUTS
from our Grand Final team please?

Also, an INS and OUTS for Sydney from their last game (Round 22 last year, as they didn't make the finals???)

It would make it a lot easier to analyse that way.....we do it for every other round, why not this one??

Thanks in advance

and...

Just a gut feeling and my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if Roo doesn't come up.

I am also worried about us on ANZ Stadium because we have only played there once, I think.

I'm probably just being a typical Saints worrier!

Dawson v Bradshaw...

Power/strength plays agility. Injury comeback plays complete formlessness.

Will be interesting.

I would have hoped Stanley would be in the emergency list if this was any chance of happening.

I guess McEvoy could go forward and Pattison play in the ruck, but I think it's very unlikely.

Don't worry yourself too much!!!!!

If Pattison is an emergency then he won't be playing for Sandy this week...

That's the best Sydney side I've seen on paper since there glory years.
They' will hover in the 5th-7th range this year, and will be very very hard to beat at home.
If we can come away with the 4 points saturday night,we're on the right track early

Agreed. This is going to be very hard to win.

Most I know have Sydney in the 8.

They are a great foil for us - Kirk plays well on Hayes, Bolton always play Riewoldt well.

Time for an IMPACT game Kos...

Bradshaw out/Hayes as well..my gut instinct late changes..have actually tipped the swans..hope to I'm bloody wrong..Fisher [and possibly Hayes ] out
the reason for my not liking our chances..but St.Pat is a pessimist you all know that
